Sims is amazing...
I think you'd need a Sims-only laptop, it seems to take up all the energy of mine!
Glad you figured out the odd amount Cinny, I hate it when that happens.Total Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

Me too, I was having a mild panic attack. With the big chunks into savings and seriously tight budget I was worrying I'd get overdrawn or something!
Wasn't that goo something you made from the science kits? I always cheated on Sims and used the money cheat, so got bored after a few days. They had lovely homes though.0 -
I think that the problem is that too long is spent sleeping and on the Sims 2 as soon as everyone is asleep or the house is empty the time flashes past, it just drags on this one. And you can't do enough during the day because it takes ages to fill the little skill bar when reading a book etc. OH looked over my shoulder last night and I was reading Glamour whilst my ladies were at work because I was bored!
You can set them to have longer lifespans on this version which is good and it looks like there are 2 stages of adulthood, young adult, 'regular'(???) adult and elder so life lasts longer anyway! The controls are a bit annoying, you have to right click and drag your mouse around to move the screen whereas on S2 you just 'pushed' the screen when you moved your mouse to the edge of the screen. I've given up with the mouse and just use the arrow keys! On the plus side you can now tilt the camera, on S2 if you zoomed in it sometimes gave you a funny angle, you can now change that which is good.
What's annoying me is that they changed really simple things that were right with S2, so why change it? Surely they had people testing the game who could tell them that these changes are a step back! I wouldn't say that the controls are appalling but they'll take some getting used to!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Lol I always used the money cheat too! Wasn't it rosebud or something? I used to spend ages making huge homes then get a bit bored. I wanna go on Sims now, but that'd mean I'd get even less done than normal. :rolleyes:Total Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

Gosh, Rosebud's an old one! On S2 it was 'kaching' for $1000 or 'Motherlode' for...I can't remember, $50k? I loved 'maxmotives' too, made all bars green so you didn't have to waste time seeing to their needs! Apparently the money cheats work on S3 but I tried to get the cheat bar up last night and I couldn't! Gutted, my girls are living in squalor!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Wasn't it ;!;!;! too? I remember me and my friend taking it in turns to sit manically pressing keys when we had sims sleepovers (at the same coolness level as Lord of the Rings sleepovers I'll have you know) I'm wanting to go on Sims now!!0

NIM and I have been talking a lot this morning about the house building venture. There are a few plots in the area where on first glance it looks like we could make a very healthy 18-26% profit so we're really powering on with trying to draw up this business plan. We're thinking it might be best for me to go part time (as I have more of the skills needed to project mange, and a lot more experience in this area) and him to stay full time to get this thing going. Sadly I earn too much to quit, but part time hopefully will be enough time to manage the site and source materials. Does concern me that I wouldn't be onsite at all times, but I'm not entirely certain I'd be of use there all the time!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I was pretty good and didn't cheat, except I usually gave them 5k extra when building as it is just not possible for a family of more than 2 to have a house built and a bed and fridge and bookcase on 20k!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I think going part time would be good idea anyways, as you'll always know there's a secure second income beside NIMs. But you never know, your paintings might take off in a way you'll be able to quit your job completely.0

I only usually cheat when it comes to building, once the house is sorted they're left to earn the treats!
With your real housebuilding venture, if you can go part time I think you should go for it! Would you be able to do it for a trial period so if it doesn't work out you can go back to full time?Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary.
