Flower, sorry to hear things have gone a bit wobbly! It sounds like you OH has learned his lesson now, leaving you his CC shows that he wants to change and the lightbulb may be flickering on for him now that he sees how important it is to you.
I think the plan to clear the Natwest CC first then HSBC is a good one; Natwest will be cleared soon and then you can both concentrate all of your efforts on HSBC. You say it's your debt but if it was used to buy things for your house and food then the debt belongs to both of you and he needs to come on board to help clear it! If you can, can you get the blance moved to a 0% card so it isn't gaining interest whilst you're just paying the minimum off it?
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

Both the cards on the same interest rate. Sorry tete didnt put that very clearly, yes the HSBC is both our debt, although just in his name.
However in a way i agree with Dinah, i am glad that this has come about now and not in 6 months time! I'm not sure that it has bought about his LBM (although we shall see, can always hope!), but i think he has realised how much it means to me.

I think when he gets home from work later we will have to sit down and talk about a plan of action - as so far everything has been said through his letter and text messages!

Flower - I'd be fuming too! At least you have his card now so no more damage can be done, and he does seem genuinely sorry. Your POA sounds good, and it seems like you're on top of it now. I agree with Birdie too, I'd get them moved to a 0% card, I think eggs balance transfers are 0% until 2010.
But, personally, I'd carry on the huff for a little while longer, might get some chocolate out of it! :D

Oooh, going for my haircut in 30mins! Going to bite the bullet and get it wedged in at the back, left long at the front, and really choppy.
Saying that I'll come back with just a trim.

Unfortunalty OH doesnt have a great credit rating, so not really sure that a balance transfer would be an option, but i will definatly get him to look into it.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Oh i think OH is well aware of how long i can huff for when needs be! But then again i do need to talk to him to decide what we do from here, wouldnt be very easy if im sulking with him!

Well the first test is that we need to go food shopping this afternoon, and he normally just throws anything in the trolley, so we shall see how he gets on!!

Really want to come to some sort of agreement tonight as we have his family staying for the weekend, so dont really want us to be arguing and sulking while they are here!

That is very annoying Flower, i would be fuming too. If you are making the effort to pay it off and he was just making it worse. Lets hope he has learnt his lesson. My OH is the same with throwing stuff in trolley, have to leave him at home most the time!

Dinah - that is serious stuff to be talking about , don't let it get you down though. Look at what you have achieved with the debt, I am sure you could manage mortgage and kids. You and NIM may be in a much better situation ina couple of years, you never know.

Good luck with the hair cut Cinny. I am a wimp and only get a trim, have been growing my hair for so long and isn't getting much longer.

We are getting taken out for lunch today at pizza express, so not only is it payday but i get a free lunch yay

I just follow him round taking it back out :rotfl:, although sometimes things do slip through.

We have OHs family coming to stay this weekend, and normally when they stay the first night we will get a takeaway. But OH has just tx me saying he has told them he will cook a big curry tonight and we will have that instead. Im sure his mum and dad will be happy about that as they have debt aswell so always looking to save money, and im happy coz hes trying bless - i just hope he keeps this attitude going!

Give him lots of praise and encouragement Flower, men are simple creatures and respond well to feeling like they did right by their missus.

Agreed! I give OH lots of praise when he does anything that's slightly MSE and he seems to be catching on. Like this weekend, offered to take him to Pizza Express for dinner again, but he said he'll cook for me instead (bless!) can't say no to that! He's even offered me face packs and BGT on friday over staying out after the cinema. (Worrying, but bless!) Sounds like your OH is getting the hang of it Flower, very good idea with the curry!

I did it, I got a proper new haircut! Looks pretty swell actually, got my fringe fully cut in again too. I don't look like a lion anymore either which is nice.

Also picked up a leaflet for Phoenix Trading, selling cards door to door.. I think. Going to look it up online later on, looks promising though!
