That sucks Happy, are you feeling better now? My company are cruel about sick days too, they make you have a meeting and you explain why you couldn't go to work, once you've had 3 sick period in a year you get a disciplinary and they won't pay you for sick days until it a year has passed. Some crazy points system that I can't get my head around!
Nice to hear you got treated to a lovely mean Lara!
I have somehow been talked into taking Tuesday afternoon off work to go and play golf with my Boss! There's apparently some sort of free ladies day thing and she was going on her own but we were talking yesterday afternoon and she talked me into joining her... I don't play golf and have no hand eye co-ordination!
And talking about being talked into doing things... I somehow said a few weeks ago to OH that I'd go to some wrestling show thing at the leisure centre on Saturday, his best friend and his girlfriend are coming so at least I'll have someone to suffer it with! I really don't know how I get myself into these situations! LOL!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Morning everyone! Ugh, my £10 meal deal last night turned out to be a total farce. After waiting 45 minutes for the food, the table next to us got served first (after ordering after us) so I went up to find out what had happened. Something about the till roll needing changing when I'd ordered so it hadn't gone through to the kitchen. She was completely unapologetic and said they'd put it in now bit it would be another twenty minutes. I mentioned a refund and she said "You want a refund instead?" And I said "No, as well" and she went off and had a conversation with the bloke who was obviously the shift manager (some goon with a skinhead) and I could see him shaking his head so in the end I just went up and said "Look just give me my money back I'm off" and they did, again with no apology (although it meant we got our drinks free) ... In fact I've a good mind to write to the company and complain! But they'll only give us vouchers for that pub which I don't want to go to again. Sorry big rant, but it annoys me that we sat waiting for nearly an hour, no-one would have noticed if I hadn't asked, no apology and no kind of compensation. Harumph! Sounds like you had a nicer feed than me at least Lara!!
Hope everyone's well today. It's peeing down here which is annoying as I was going to go into town to have a peek in the M&S penny bazaar thing.
Haha, good luck with the golf Birdie, I have to say I don't see the appeal! Nor with wrestling to be honest!!
I wonder how Poddle's getting on impressing the museum people? (It is a museum isn't it?)Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

Sounds like you had a lovely meal Lara, so nice of your Boss to take you out for a meal!
Tete - They sound like a right pain! At least you got your money back, but what a complete waste of time.
I'm going to have a gander at the Penny Bazaar too today after work, I heard yesterday things were selling out by dinner time? So I might miss the stuff, but I'll still get to see the pretty displays!
Not much to report from this end. Got £3 more than usual in my wage slip this week, and that's about it! Errm, going Black and White movie shopping with my mum this afternoon, so going to try the £2 M&S meal deal today too, can that be classed as news?0
