Have you been doing the no purchase necessary route as well as gobbling chocolate? I do that twice a day from my personal and work email addresses, though my frst win was from a wrapper.

Three email addresses a day! And nothing, nada, zilch! AND gobbling chocolate too!
    Are you married Poddle?!

Nope, still engaged! He popped the question in 2007 and we planned to get married this year after buying a house last year, but things not quite gone to plan! We're still working on it :o

ETA I've got three balls! I don't even know what I'm going to do with them - well, the footballs will be good for OH's work team, but I'll have to try and find a good home for the cricket ball!

I'm still secretly hoping for New York in December, but planning on doing it last minute, lastminute.com tend to do 4* 5 days from Manchester for a little under £500 each which would suit us just fine!

You've got to have hope! A little secret ambition is always a good thing - I daydream that we'll run away to NY to get married, or maybe Cuba or even Vegas!

I'm sure you'll do it if you set your mind to it Dinah - it would be a good MB target...

Nope the MB goes towards the house.

We do put aside £250 a month for holidays and trips so should have enough by Christmas to book.

Oh dear keep trying Poddle! At least you're lucky with the balls! And get yourself to Cuba before it's too late, it's beautiful!

Wow Dinah if you put that amount aside each month you should be able to afford NY no probs whatsoever!

Am pleased to see there seems to be a glut of new restaurant vouchers, have seemed a bit thin on the ground recently. Hopefully we'll be able to get a table for the sizzling steak thing tomorrow night as we are both on the bones of our backsides for money this week. I often think we'd be better off moving out of home and in with each other with the amount we spend on eating out!

But you'd still go out! And moving out is never as cheap as you think it will be, I thought living out woud take half my salary monthly, ended up taking about 80% it was appauling! Part of me is really looking forward to living with NIM and another part is dreading it cos we're going to be on bread and water cos we're used to all the challenge money and so on!

Affording it shouldn't be the problem, although we are wanting a REALLY big holiday next year, Japan. Its one of those intrepid explorer trips, £1300 each, plus flights... eeek! But once we move out we won't be able to afford it anymore, so want to get it done before we get a mortgage.

Ooh Japan! That's on the list too!

I don't know re. moving out - I was only on £12k a couple of years ago and renting and paying bills etc - OK the rent was only £200 pm but I still managed to go out every Friday and Saturday and pay off my credit card at about £150 per month. I just don't know where the money goes these days and can only conclude it's out for drinks/meals 3 nights a week, where if we had our own space we'd probably just have beans on toast for tea half the time. Anyway my new spreadsheet shows that I def can't afford anything til after Christmas at least so it's moot anyway

Guess that's the difference, cheapest rent I could get over here was £600 a month, add on the bills and council tax and food and it was the bones of £1100 a month. Seemed like a huge waste of my hard earned cash!

We've only won by the npn route with Galaxy so it does definitely work. We do both mine and NIMs address everyday.

Glad you and NIM had a chat, FWIW I think its the right thing (him not working w/e that is!)

    Afternoon,

I don't think I will be going on holiday for a while now. Running low on money this month but at least next month I don't need to put any aside for holiday so will have a bit extra. I would lvoe to go to New York again. Me and OH have been together 5 years Novemeber so would love to do something but don't know what his training schedule will be like for police.

Living away from home is very expensive. I don't think you realise until you do it, you forget about all the bills etc. When OH starts in police we will be splitting rent equally as at the moment he pays less as he earns less. That will giove me some extra money every month at least!
