I told the guy I work in the office with I'm going to try going Veggie (he's been veggie for years, health choice too more than animal rights me thinks) and he keeps nipping down to tell me I should eat curly kale, and that there's quorn on offer at XYZ. I think my head is going to pop.

Birdie - I think that weird rugby head might have to just go 'missing' *ahem* Sounds horrible! OH has some of those awful Reggae incense burners you get from hippy shops, already planning its demise.

Dinah - I think I'm going to save buying a mixer until I move out, don't want my mother getting attached! My electric hand mixer is still going strong (£5 from asda years ago) Plus I think £90 is a big enough treat, don't want to end up spending all my saved money....again.

In his defense I think that awful trinket was a present from his Mum (who has a wall full of those Cherished Teddy ornament things so it explains a lot!), as was the interesting pen pot that has all sorts of different sports balls all over it (currently on display on the windowsill of the spare room, may have to fall off the window into the street at some point!) and the Forever Friends rugby player ornament thing. His bad taste does mean that he wants to keep these things out on display... he's convinced his Mum will be upset if they go the distance, I'm convinced she won't even notice!

Great, the call centre thought NIM started the new job this week so he has no shifts, this will mean his income for his paycheck next week is a staggering £22 instead of the usual £230! Eeek!

Oh dear Dinah, that's no good! Can he talk them into giving him some shifts? You might have to send him out handy-manning for the neighbours otherwise!
I wonder if all of the tat can be placed in a box for 'safe keeping' and accidentally fall out the boot of my car, get run over a few times then freakishly set on fire... a girl can dream!

I had an epifany today. NIM will clera £22 a day working in that kiosk. However he's been planning to start up the MB when he finishes working weekends. MB should make more than £22 a week, AND give us our Sundays. Only downside is if he either doesn't 'get' MB-ing, and that I won't get my painting time anymore.... might have to send him off to tai chi so I can draw! I'm going to sit him down for a talk tonight.

Birdie I think you should gather all your OH's horrible rugby paraphernalia together and put it all in a bag and hide it down the side of something in the spare room. Hm, now where could I have got that idea from?

Right I'm of to get ready for my gig tonight, been on Google Streetmap thing to remind myself what the streets of Newcastle look like and to check for one-way systems etc (I'm nervous about driving new places at the best of times let alone with OH sitting there going "Now don't have a hissy fit will you?" Grr!), so now just the parking to worry about, eek! See you tomorrow! x

Crikey thats not good news about NIMs shifts at work. Do you have a back up plan?

Getting two months wages entirely out of his June payslip and not going to Ireland/camping in July. He won't like that though but removing our holiday budget for the month is the only way I can see us making ends meet.

Hopefully you'll be able to find a good solution that still allows some time away Dinah! Can you just suspend savings until NIM gets paid his proper full wage so you can still have your weekend away? Or is that crazy talk?
Off home now, then to OH's parents for tea then a wedding fair with MIL to make her feel involved in wedding plans... I'll let her do the whole thing if she wants to pay! Maybe I should suggest it!
