Hey thanks for reminding me about that ball thing, I had won a football before and apparantly I've just won another one I think! That'll be fun for the summer! any idea how long they take to arrive?
I am trying to revise right now but it is just sooo hard!! Its not fair :( I am the worlds best procrastinator though!! (dont think that title deserves a prize though unfortunatley!)
OH won £5 on the free scratchies today so thats a little boost to my mood and he also got £50 from ING refferals come through (thats £100 between us so far which is great really! hoping they do the same promo again soon lol!)
Hope that we can use the other 2 codes we have though, I think they have been given out to people on mse but don't know if they've actualy been used yet... hope so!
I have decided my savings target is to have £250 more in my savings account than I do now by the end of July!
There I've said it! With no income really apart from all my extras I think this will be a challenge but I am up for that! I think its going to have to come from cutting going out etc, (which in fairness I should be doing anyway to revise) and also from extras (if any come my way!!)

Best of luck with the revision Tinkerbel, I'm good at procrastinating too!

Been dooyooing all afternoon, god it's so time consuming rating people!

I'm off to see if I can win a ball, not that I do any sport of any kind!

ETA - nope, no balls for me!

Thanks for the link to the huuuuge list of Daily comps Dinah! I'm going to have to focus on just a few of them I think or I'll be doing them all day every day!
I didn't tell you what I got for my birthday, I've just realised! Heater rollers and gold eyelash curlers (v. posh!) from my Mum, tickets to see the Sound of Music from OH's parents, tickets to see McFly (whoop!) from 2 friends who are coming with me (double whoop!), half a Tiffany ring off my brother and SIL, and a few bits and bobs from girls at work including a pink furry steering wheel cover! OH was a sweetheart this morning too, he made me a cooked breakfast at 7.45 and gave me a £40 voucher for a Hair and Beauty place! And a holographic giraffe bookmark because 'it's cool'! What a darling he is!

Ohhh, I won a football! :D Thanks Dinah! Will give it too OHs little brother as I've got no use for it! I'll check out the daily comps thing later when OH has gone home.

I was very very good in town, got the passport form, got my picture taken (I look wide eyed crazy - but my hair looks nice) and didn't buy Glamour magazine. So still have £16 spends money for this weekend left. Mum is writing me a cheque for the passport so I'll be able to pay that back to her in a few weekly chunks. Will get it sent off tomorrow and sorted! Just made some triple chocolate brownies too, mmmmm.

Good luck with your Revision Tink! I think we're all procrastinators here, hence the 1000 odd posts already!

Hope everyone's having a nice afternoon!

ETA: ooooh, great prezzies Birdie! Hope you're having a good day :D

    Afternoon everyone

I'm so mad (in case you hadn't noticed!). Got a flyer through my door a couple of weeks ago about a Laundry care service and it said there was a £5 discount with the leaflet. The other day I looked at Mount Ironing and decided to get it sorted once a for all (I know, not money saving at all, sorry). Went to get the ironing today cos couldn't be bothered to wait for the free delivery when it's only around the corner and was told the discount was only for duvets (which was on the other side of the flyer). When I pointed out that it clearly said above the laundry care part that there was £5 discount they still refused so I paid my money, took my ironing and came home to call Trading Standards. To make it worse they put another of the flyers on my ironing together with my receipt!! At least I have the proof if Trading Standards come to see me.

I know it's only £5 but it's MY £5, cheeky little things (being polite for you all!) xx

On a lighter note, Happy Birthday Birdie. Hope you have a good one  xxxx
Oh, yes and thanks for the heads up about the balls Dinah. We need all the free balls we can get cos my Staffy likes to play with them but he either bursts them or runs off and hides them so we tend to have single use balls only :rotfl:

Congrats Cinny, glad to see Spendy Cinny is back in her cage.

I'm going to be hitting the brownies this evening too, and making dinner for NIM and I (he's such a picky eater I don't get to flex my cookery muscles . However he's getting better so I'll accept making boring food now and hopefully I'll be able to really have fun cooking for us once I get our new house.

What stupid people, if they had given the £5 discount they could have had a long term customer, as it is they'll have a complicated investigation to look forward to!

  • Hello Dinah and friends! :j Tis Friiiidaaay!

I thought I'd pop on and say hello, I posted a few times back during 'phase one' :p and was very happy to hear your progress so far. I'm still currently catching up on the more recent happenings but I'll be up to speed in no time.

I read somewhere that you're looking into setting up a website? Is that right? Hope it is going well! I'm sure it will be a nice little earner! If you need any help with getting one set up on a budget, let me know. I've done lots of web design through uni and my job so I might be of some use.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Roll on Bank Hol next week too! Yay! :T I'm off to update my signature. It's a big update this one is - wahoo!
