As far as I can understand it :
America government/health officials/etc have allowed the use of this hydrogen peroxide in teeth products.
The UKs hasn't.

Please be careful with these. The ones my OH used can make your teeth/gums feel temporarily sensitive, but thankfully not permanently so. He smokes (not much thank goodness), so obviously he wanted something that worked.
If they have been withdrawn there is a reason for doing so. I did a bit of research on the net with these, and found a few reports of sensitivity, but nothing too worrying. I as a non-smoker would like to try the standard version of these, as the pro version has been very effective on OH.0 -

anyway ta for all your help
If you can buy them in proper shops in the UK, then it's legal (Although most are useless!)
If you can only buy them from a dentist, then if you can get them online, you need to be careful, as something is being bypassed somewhere.
If you can't get something from a shop or a dentist, then be very very careful when getting it online. How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -

This is weird. Since I posted, the link in my post hasn't been functioning, and it was when I posted. Very strange.
If amazon have suddenly decided not to sell them, they are available on ebay, or if you do a quick search on google.0 -
Has anyone ever tried these? I know you can't get them over here but you can get them on ebay from the States. I really want to get some but am worried that they either won't work or will make my teeth really sensitive. I can't afford to get my teeth professionally whitened at the dentist at the moment and thought this might be a way to get them whiter.Jane

I have bought these from ebay and whilst they don't get my teeth white they do remove coffee/tea stains. I don't have naturally white teeth but these strips do leave my teeth looking brighter than they were. However they can cause some sensitivity if you use them too much so it might be wise to leave them for a few days if you do have a problem with them. I use them 2-3 times a year and my teeth look so much better after using them for a few days.0

There are so many threads about these already, infact one just started earlier on today, if you do a wee search you will get loads of info.

They are available in the uk

Will tell you where from.
I personally think that getting them from a named, regulated dental practice is a tad better than some bloke off ebay  That way you know what you are getting is safe and appropriate for you.0 -
I have seen these in Canada and was tempted. But as someone on here once said they are not licensed in this country which put me off. I would stick with the dentist.0
