So is the best place to go my dentist? I really don't like my dentist man :( I didn't realise it was illegal for beauty salons to do it, they are everywhere here?

Why go to a dentist you don't like? Why not find one you do like?

But better to go to someone you don't like, but who knows what they're doing than to someone who's had a Sat afternoon 'course' on whitening teeth with industrial chemicals used in the dry cleaning industry.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

That's why you hould get advice on these things and not just 'pop into' illegal beauty salon whitening places, or get mail order stuff.

Dentists do make money from doing this treatment, but we're also trained to know who NOT to do!

Are the beauty salon whitenings illegal? My local one does it and claims that it is exactly the same as in the Dentists - I was really tempted because it is on offer for £100 and I had Zoom at the dentists 3 years ago and it cost me £500!

  • Hi everyone I bought this off the internet, ebay as people (amercians) were telling me how great it was so I just went ahead and bought it. Now I havent used it yet as I am scared!!!
Can not find anything like that here at all, its listerine, so I dont know if it has bad things in it that could possibly be illegal. Has anyone heard of this product or used it or a similar one??

Im going to go out on a limb here and say NOTHING that you can buy over the counter will whiten your teeth - unless they are already white. All I can see this doing is really cleaning your teeth, removing drink and food and perhaps nicotine stains therefore making your teeth appear whiter.

But dont expect yellow teeth to become pearly whites using this product
