The dental clinic (sister company to optical express) have got a good offer going at the moment.

    £199 for tray based whitening.

Went in today for a consultation and all setup next week to get started.

Was pretty impressed, was expecting from the "from £199" sign for that to be just the top teeth or some other catch and was also expecting a hard push to get zoom whitening (over £400)... but nope.. £199 all in and he also said he preferred it to the zoom method because ultimately you would have to pay for the trays when you top up anyway.... and that the offer would be over then (standard price is like £372).

And once you have your trays and used up what they give you then you can just buy replacement gel from them or wherever you like.

But yeah, anyone looking to get professional whitening from a genuine dentist. I don't think that price can be much bettered.
  • Any teeth whitening experts out their?

I have had the gun sheilds made at my local dentist, now looking where to buy the whitening gel.

Would like to know where to buy it cheaper than the dentist, I paid £80 at the denist for the gum sheilds, they wanted £280 for the whole whitening thing (sheilds, gel, and what ever else make it up to £280) but expensive I think.

    I charge £400!
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.
  • Hi all

I have had a quick look through the thread (wow it is long) and I am prepared to start saving for the tray system.

However I think I should give the thrifty old style bicarb soda a quick go and just see if it works. Is it actually going to harm my teeth? i.e is it worth a shot?

(god knows I have other things my money could go on after all!)
I miss using my infinite coupons at Tesco!
2010 was the worst year ever :(
But 2011 so far has been a lot of fun! :j

  • Any ideas where to buy the whitening gel from?
  • www.brightsmiledirect.com for just £99 and apply the coupon code "BSD99" and you will get £40 off.

Also offer a money back guarentee.

Results are great as I was quoted £400 at the dentist for the exact same thing.

Are there really dentists happy to make and charge for the trays and then telling you to source the gel yourself?

Are these dentists advising on product strength and useage and are they available for future consultation? Is that included in the tray make-up fee?

This rings all sorts of alarm bells with me too.

If anything goes wrong, the dentist could easily find himself on the wrong end of a lawsuit. I bet he doesn't realise that!!!

  • Toothsmith what are the odd's of enlighten deep bleaching working for me, their website claims to guarantee an improvement to atleast B1 shade however i'm rather skeptical? I'm 19 and was premature, i had white baby teeth but my adult teeth like my brother and sister are rather yellow sort of around this level but maybe a shade or two whiter drhuefner_paul1.jpg

I never smile because of my teeth, it's made me so depressed over the years, i have lost all confidence :(

Will this treatment actually work for me? I don't want to go all the way to harley street & pay £700 for a procedure that might not even work.

    Thank's.
