Advice on Teeth Whitening Discussion Thread

Hi everyone,
I have just recently had a lot of dental work done, I am ashamed to say that I hadn't been to the dentist in five years and needed 7 fillings and two teeth out! Now that this has been done I am getting cosmetic work done too, I have paid £500 for enlighten whitening and have had my initial appointment. My teeth are very yellow naturally but my concern is that my two front teeth at the top have very noticeable bright white patches on them, my dentist told me that this is called mottling. Will these patches go even whiter and still look very different to the rest of my teeth after the whitening? I am getting a brace after the whitening but my dentist has said that I will probably still need veneers on my front two teeth because of the mottling. Would be grateful for any insights!Paying off my partners debts:

It's hard to say without seeing it, but if your dentist is happy to proceed then I would guess it will be OK.How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
hi i have asked this before, i am using teeth whitening trays at 22%, i still dont see a differnce, can someone please advise on stronger strengths0
-
As before, you need to go and discuss this with your dentist. I really wouldnt advise anything stronger but you shouldnt take advice from strangers on an internet forum regarding this anyway.0

unfortunately i always feel rushed wth my dentist. Some of the people posting in here have actually offered very good advice0

Thats as may be but you are paying your dentist for this service and they are obliged to give follow up care so make an appointment, go and see him/her and tell them your concerns about the bleaching. If you always feel rushed then you really should consider changing dentists to one you feel more comfortable with.0

Apart from the professional advice, you will be able to see where your tooth colour(s) fit in a scale of shades. Dulux brilliant white is not for everyone (or should that be anyone?!).Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

The dental clinic (sister company to optical express) have got a good offer going at the moment.
£199 for tray based whitening.
Went in today for a consultation and all setup next week to get started.
Was pretty impressed, was expecting from the "from £199" sign for that to be just the top teeth or some other catch and was also expecting a hard push to get zoom whitening (over £400)... but nope.. £199 all in and he also said he preferred it to the zoom method because ultimately you would have to pay for the trays when you top up anyway.... and that the offer would be over then (standard price is like £372).
And once you have your trays and used up what they give you then you can just buy replacement gel from them or wherever you like.
But yeah, anyone looking to get professional whitening from a genuine dentist. I don't think that price can be much bettered.0
