  • Hello everybody,

I am reading this forum in dis-belief to think i have been convinced into purchasing stocks for this total apparely group! I would like some advise from anyone please, here my situation:

    1) i have signed release documents and sent them to them saying i will be purchasing the stocks
    2) Now after reading this, i have not yet sent the money over to them yet!
    3) But they are threating my of court action as i signed the documents?
    4) But being a SCAM, do they have the authority to take me to court?
    5) Urgent response would be ever so helpful.

    Than you in advance

Assuming it is the same outfit, they cannot legally enforce the contract you signed, since they are operating in an illegal manner, by offering financial "services" without appropriate registration.

If in doubt get down to your local CAB.
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:

Here is an enquiry to Total Apparel Investment Relations bloke

    Subject: investment
    Justin, good morning
I was recently invited by an equity group to buy shares in the Total Apparel
Group but here in the UK I have no real way of knowing whether or not this
is some sort of a scam. I have very limited investment knowledge but the
offer os shares at a preferencial rate 0.15cents seems to good to be true,
are you in a position to advise whether or not this is a bona fide offer or
not?? I am sure you are a very busy man so any response will be greatly
    appreciated.

    reply,

    Jeff-
Thank you for your inquiry. I have been assured by the Company that the
equity group is an approved representative of Total Apparel Group, and that
the offer is indeed legitimate. You have been offered a discount to market
(currently trading at $0.19) because you are purchasing restricted shares,
which you would have to hold for at least 6 months before selling; they are
thus compensating you for the lack of immediate liquidity.
I hope that helps, and please let me know if I can be of any additional
    assistance.
    Sincerely,
    Justin Davis

If you like the idea of handing your money to a company that isn't regulated by the UK governing body for financial services to buy shares that even they admit that you won't be able to sell for at least 6 months even if they go out of business between now and then, then go for it.

I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole personally.

well, and theres me thinking a forum was supposed to be a helpful platform to exchange advice, hints etc and not somewhere for the one line comment and insults.....I notice dunstonh is a prolific commenter on here and has been thanked for his input.....if his comments are as informative as his responses to me on this thread, well, I fail to see where thanks are due........I'm out of here.

You are right in thinking a forum was supposed to be a helpful platform to exchange advice. But when you ask for advice from people, you should let them express their views, by all means go away and do your own homework/research before you make your decision. At the end of the day its your money, do what you like with it.

The replies that you got are not only informative to you but they are there to advise other potential victims that could get drawn into these sort of scams.

Makes me wonder if you are asking for advice or promoting this scam

The advice is simple: don't. If you don't like the advice, ignore it, but don't complain afterwards if it all goes horribly wrong.

Where the advice is so obvious you will get banter about how bad the company in question is and how foolish it would be to invest there. It's human interaction, it's normal.
