Erm what else ... we did get some alone time for abit of a chat, we left the boy’s playing while we had a cuppa (also he doens’t drink at all... NEVER.. anyone else find that abit weird??! also he has a gym in his house?! So why does he come to the gym?! Bizarre !!)
Would you prefer a 30-ish single bloke who cracks open a few tins each night in front of the kids.... who would prefer to somewhere where you can get a beer like a pub over a cafe or perhaps an alcoholic in front of the kids, or someone too hungover to do family stuff on a weekedn morning.... Gym fanatics often do go to gyms to compare their performance with others and if he's serious it may be something to do with performance re: the drinking. Maybe he was lonely rattling around his big house, maybe he goes to the gym to meet other people with serious interests and get out the house. In the scheme of weirdness you're having to look very hard..... but you do keep trying.....0 -
I'm seeing him at the gym this afternoon as usual, but i have the afternoon off work so i might see if he wants to do something, unless you think it might be abit soon, i don't want to crowd him like some freaky stalker woman haha... but damn i want that larder!!!
It's nice he tried with the kids etc. and they are also a good shield for you.
If you let him pay for anything make it a baby sitter so you can get to know each other one-to-one - do something free like cook him a proper meal once hte childcare taken care of, or arrange a few more afternoons off. It's nice he's good with the kids but try and get a bit of adult normal time soon....0 -
Hi Taye
Loving your thread and just wanted to say I am glad it is going well for you
Please don't stress about the difference in your financial circumstances. My partner and I have completely different backgrounds - I grew up on a council estate, didn't to to uni and have had to work very hard to break into the IT industry I currently work in, although I still don't earn a lot! He comes from well-off folks, huge house in the country, uni educated and he earns about 3 times what I do - it's never impacted on our relationship although it did take me a while to feel 'worthy' of him. Quite the contrary, I think I have opened his eyes to materialistic ways and now he is careful with his cash instead of frittering it away - together we enjoy the simple and free things in life - a quiet night in with good homecooked food and a movie, walks by the river with our daughter, growing our own veg as well as going out occasionally. We each have brought something positive to our relationship through our differences which has served to make it stronger.
Whatever happens between you and 'Dave', don't ever feel that you are inferior to anyone because of how much money is in your purse:A kimmi_b0 -
I've just returned from the gym and the first thing I did was read this thread to find out how it went last night
I'm hooked on it - kept checking late last night to find out if you had posted an update - DH thinks I'm mad (I had to give him a run-down of whats going on!)
Taye I'm so pleased for you, Dave sounds like a wonderful bloke and the fact that your boys have taken to him is brilliant. Go with the flow and see what develops, Dave obviously likes you a lot!! :T
And dont forget to keep us all updated! :j0 -
Taye,

Taye, I think if you and Dave got married, it's going to be so hard to explain who the thousands of people (in nice hats!) are at the church who neither of you have met! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:MFW 2019#24 £9474.89/£11000 MFW 2018#24 £23025.41/£15000

Well done Taye! :j
Glad you went to see him and had a good time. He sounds great. In fact, if I wasn't already happily married I'd ask if he had a brother. How lovely that you also managed to talk. Hopefully he will understand you better if you have anymore wobbly moments. Glad you are starting to feel almost as excited as we all are!
Re the Mills and Boon books Taye-
They ALWAYS live happily ever after
I'm not sure I suit a hat, if I wear one of those little things that sticks in my hair, is that OK with you?0 -
Good to read you got over your stagefright and had an enjoyable evening.
I'm fascinated. Dave has a home gym, playroom, larder and three cars and doesn't work on a Friday afternoon !
What does he do for a living ?.....................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)
