I used tesco mobile recycling last year and they were awful. I didn't receive the information I was supposed to e.g confirmation e-mails etc. Then to top it off they said the mobile I sent wasn't what I stated and were going to give me less. It took me ages to argue this and I had evidence to prove I was right and they eventually agreed. Though this took numerous calls on my part and nothing from them though they said they would ring back. I asked for compensation for the trouble which was a £10 extra gift card but when it came to use them some of the gift cards weren't active. I wasn't going to get into it again but will never use them again ever and would advise anyone against it. :mad:0

I have had an appalling experience with Tesco Mobile Recycle.
I sent 2 mobiles for recycling in August 2011 and they declined one. The one that they agreed to was not paid on the November statement as promised so I phoned them and eventually got it put onto the February statement......
.... it has not appeared; so they are investigating again.Signaller, author, father, carer.0 -
Why don't MSE remove the Tesco phone recycling link from the site ?
It appears that many people are still experiencing problems in obtaining money from the company, and by continuing to advertise Tesco - MSE is effectively condoning the action ....0 -
I sent a phone off to tesco and they told me it was worth £62 something. So i sent it recorded signed for to be safe. I have been checking daily on both tesco and royal mail to see it has arrived and according to royal mail it was signed for on the 25/8/2012 and yet still one week late tesco are saying "awaiting phone". I have sent two emails and no reply. Starting to get worried now. :mad:0

If you are thinking of using Tesco Mobile Recycling, then don't. It really isn't worth the stress and headache trying to sort it out.
I hope this helps someone.

Fluffysheep, I have to agree with you. If u are awaiting vouchers from Tesco it will be much better and faster for you to send a msg via email to Terry Leahy.
I have also a bad expirience with the Tesco's recycling. Its quite a problem and its not worth the time and ur nervz.0 -
Thought I would give a run down of my experience of using Tesco Mobile Recycle (TMR) as the reviews made me a wee bit nervous trusting them with an 'old' device they valued at just over £170.
First things first this is now through a company called 20:20 Mobile Group and from my experiences seems to have been a lot smoother than some of the horror stories that others have experienced over the years with TMR. I guess time will tell if this is the case or not...
All in all I can't complain about how things went as I received 100% of the value (I was originally quoted) within 6 working days of TMR receiving the mobile. However, I have used other mobile recycling companies over the years and found that TMR is far slower than (in particular) Mazuma that I recycled with last time round where I received payment in to my account the day they received the phone.
The main grumble for me is that notifications on receipt and then the payment confirmation were a little bit slow but again nothing I can complain about, just that other companies I have used in the past have been far more streamlined than TMR. Or maybe I have come to expect too much!
Anyway I hope the following is of use to anyone thinking of using TMR or has sent off their old mobile and is waiting for an e-mail confirmation or their money and not received it yet.
24.09.12 - posted mobile by next day special delivery (delivery by 1pm the following day 'guaranteed')
25.09.12 - Royal Mail tracking site shows that parcel was signed for although no time stamp (no e-mail/text from TMR to say they had received this and online still showing as 'awaiting phone')
26.09.12 (@15:00) - e-mail received from TMR confirming that phone had been received, passing their verification checks, and that confirmation would be sent to me 'shortly' to confirm the payment has been made.
28.09.12 (@10:30) - confirmation that payment has been processed and should be in my account within 4 working days (as I opted to receive payment by BACS directly in to my account)
02.10.12 - payment received in bank account, so within the 4 working days specified by them on their previous e-mail.
If you decide to go for TMR good luck and I hope you have a hassle free time as I did - and if you're a little bit more patient than me maybe you will be more than just satisfied with the service.0 -
Tesco mobile recycle no longer offer payment in clubcard points like they used to... grrr this is what I was looking for.
Looks also like you no longer get clubcard points for the actual transaction either. Whats the point of this being called tesco?!!!0 -
Need to send the mobile back within 14 days otherwise they reduce the offer!
Not happy with service - reduced my offer despite taking 50% up of the time to send me the envelope in the first place. Would not recommend!0 -
After reading the posts here was comtemplating whetehr to use tesco or not. I shop with tesco and bank(clubcard plus & savings) with them. Have had issues but have always been resolved at local manager level or for banking at CS level only once had top resort to emailing CEOs office and even that was promptly resolved.
So decided to give tesco mobile recycling a try anyways as they have changed from zozoo to 20:20. So far great experience though yet to recieve the money(fingers crossed). I have put the timelines below and will update them as it proceeds.
14th Jan 2013 09:09 hrs -- Registered online account and registered the recycling order.(Online offer was £150)
15th Jan 2013 10:30 hrs -- Received the jiffy bag in the post
15th Jan 2013 15:27 hrs -- Posted the jiffy bag with phone inside(and said a small prayer!!)
16th Jan 2013 08:17 hrs -- Checked tracking and saw that they received the special delivery parcel(printed delivery receipt incase of any issues)
16th Jan 2013 21:00 hrs -- Checked account online was a bit disappointed to see no updates ...uh oh...looks like trouble.
17th Jan 2013 08:05 hrs -- Surprise, surprise, confirmation email recieved stating they received the phone and has passed the verification process successfully(which I think means I get the £150). Also states that I will receive a payment processing confirmation email shortly after this one.
......its 17th Jan 2013 09:05 hrs still awaiting payment email....maybe I am being a bit fussy and impatient now....
Looks lke they have improved. If the payment processsing email comes in today I must say they have vastly improved as it would have then taken 4 days for the whole process...fingers crossed....
18th Jan 2013 10:30 hrs -- Received payment processed email. Money should be in bank account in 4 days....Not bad at all...:T:T
4 days from registereing to payment. Tesco/20:20 have improved their servcie. I definitely recommend..(will let you guys know once payments is in my account):D:D

Pretty happy with service. Would use again. Good price for a "non working" iPhone 4S. Good communication by email.
All in all, no horsing around and I wasn't left with a long face.Defaultless as of 12th Sept 2012BugsyBrowne wrote: »Listen here default Dave why don't you take your bullsh*t and stick it up your defaulted ar*e and then stick your defaulted credit report and stick it in your defaulted gob.0
