Orange and E2Save Cancelling Offpeak Tarriff Orders

Very interesting. I had an email and text message to ask me to call them on an 0871 number. I used a different one.
They told me that Orange turned me down and invited me to apply for a T-mobile contract instead. Orange told me they had not, based on my existing account there was no reason why they would, and put me on to their sales team.
I wondered about posting this before, but didn't get round to it. Having read a bit more of this thread, I just spoke to Orange again. There isn't much they can do about independent retailers behaving like this in recommending T-mobile instead. He had someone the other day who applied to e2save for two Orange phones and e2save approved only one.
I don't think there is any credit reference agency that decides which phone tariff or network you should have, and it would appear that e2save are giving conflicting information. I just called them again and had two different reasons given. They use a different credit scoring method to Orange, which seems odd to me (and you wonder of they also use a different method to T-mobile). The second is that Orange instructed them not to sell these contracts pending new tariffs arriving next month0 -
My Samsung D600 arrived, as ordered, on the Orange1000 off peak deal. Bought via quidco, it will cost £4 a month, on a 12m contract. Although the 1000 minutes won't really be of any use, at least I get a more modern phone to replace my broken T29. And since I make virtually no calls, I can't complain.... but I do appreciate the comments made about these companies, and how they work.
Having said that, I spent 15 mins in a CarPhoneWarehouse at the weekend. It was a real eye-opener. They had loads of customers... and I was amazed to hear the salesmen (and they were all men) openly joking to each other about the last customer they'd stiched up, and how much money it would make for them. Seemed to be common practice to put customers on the best tariff for the salesman and CPWH, without much reference to the customers requirements. Still astonished they felt able to boast about it within earshot of customers......0 -
Sounds about right....I went to CPWW last year to get a SE 750i for my Daughter, the best available tarrif they offered was £30 a month, until I asked about a T mobile one at £15 a month which had apparently been overlooked by the salesman most likely because it gave a low commission.Join the Sarcasm Appreciation Society.

I'm sitting on E2SAVE as 'network referred', looks like i'll be looking forward to a phone call or email saying Orange has declined my order
Is the glass half full, or half empty??0 -
How do you verify that Orange turned you down?0

My D600 on the offpeak tariff is still awaiting stock. I ordered on 1st March. I'm going to be furious if they cancel my order after having me wait all this time as if it might go ahead.
I've stopped looking for other deals as I expected them to deliver my order. I suggest if they do cancel all our orders, that we club together and write some strongly worded letters of complaint, and don't just give up.
It seems it me they pulled the offers after realising too many people had gotten the bargains.
As I've said before, this will be the third bargain I've missed out on this year due to stores playing silly beggars (missed out on the Nikon 5200 at Apple Store, and Audigy 4 soundcard at PC World website). I am going to be very annoyed if this is the third thi s year.0 -
I ordered as soon as the listings were available - went for 3. They cancelled 2, havent evenhad the couertesy to contact me about the 3rd - and that was over 2 weeks ago!
Went over to mobilshop.com and bagged a O2 X-net package (500mins for 3 months) - 12 months free line rental (with cashback). Nice one e2save!0 -
oh, guess what, 'Orange 1000 offpeak has been discontinued...........'
What Joy!!Is the glass half full, or half empty??0 -
If they accept your order though and email you a reference number, aren't they then under contract to deliver?0

e2save removed their adverts straight away. However, OSPS still advertising for k750i clearance (more than 24hrs) even though no offer adverts from e2save. After that, OSPS changed the price (no longer free for off peak 10months @ 0.99p) and adverts for more than 48Hrs. Just today, OSPS removed the OP offer.
So, I called them and when I told them k750i clearance then they didn't even ask for my order no and told me its sold out.
No confirmation from them, my order status still showing as "On Pick List".
Why did they advert at different price? If they couldn't give it out to the ppl who ordered before they changed the price. OR Do they still have the diginity?
e2save removed their offer without changing the price (not bad). However, OSPS :mad:0
