Your kindness of spirit and generosity of knowledge has blown me away.:T
I am so very grateful to you all. I have aged about 2 decades though and I reckon husband's on the list for a D-I-V-O-R-C-E but still............
I decided to try not being so spam-headed (in an attempt to gain some dignity) and I went onto XBox setup thingy and they showed me how to do the media thing. Frightened the bejeezus out of me when all our rubbish Halloween photies showed up on the telly
My 11 year old nonsense is now sitting very happily navigating his way around the system. Shame it's his bedtime though :rotfl:
If ever medals were being handed out for patience you kind people would get it. Thank you all soooooo much
Irene
ps I've a horrible feeling it's not over yet. Look out for my pleas in the coming days

Does his account show as having Xbox Live Gold?
One thing to watch out for is downloading game demos if you have a download limit from your ISP. Some of the demos are over 1GB in size. A few of them and you could use up your monthly allowance quite quickly.Dave. :wave:0 -

:eek::eek: - is that my provider? I don't know if I have a limit. We're complete novices (can't you tell) with techie stuff.
Am about to try for the free month Gold but I have to put in Credit Card details. Is it safe? Can't I use a debit card instead? This was a BAD year to give up the boozeGrocery Challenge M: £450/£425.08 A: £400/£.May -£400/£361 June £380/£230 (pages 18 & 27 explain)0 -

woah, first thing, dont download any demos until you have spoken to your isp about a download limit,
second, you cant use a debit card unless its a visa debit card, but you can buy a 1 month subscription and enter the code without needing to enter card details,
thirdly, you can enter CC details but you will have to remember to remove the CC details by calling up microsoft and asking them to remove them from the database,it is safe to enter card details its just a bit of a pain to remove them,
just a note, in some games you get a 48 hour trial code that you enter and you get 48 hours of free xbox live gold
im an xbox LIVE gold user so any questions let me know0 -
Oh, I'm pretty sure you'll be sorry you offered ongoing assistance DCFC79. Thank you. I've now put credit card details in (Debit card Maestro only)
One thing if I may, is it a safe place for him to be? The Underground part is an obvious no-no but am I assured his safety (mental safety obviously)?Grocery Challenge M: £450/£425.08 A: £400/£.May -£400/£361 June £380/£230 (pages 18 & 27 explain)0 -
When you sign up to Live for the first time, you get 1 months free Xbox Live. There shouldn't be any need to input any card details.
I certainly haven't had to bother for both Xbox's in our house.
Do you know who your ISP is?Dave. :wave:0 -

I did have to put details in but it says I won't be charged right away as I have a free month.
My provider is Virgin but I don't think I've ever gone over any entitlement before. Surely it'll be a while before he downloads stuff and hopefully it won't cost.Grocery Challenge M: £450/£425.08 A: £400/£.May -£400/£361 June £380/£230 (pages 18 & 27 explain)0 -
If you decide to get a years Live subscription, don't get it from the Xbox. The standard price is £40 for 12 months, though they are doing an offer for £35 at the moment.
There are a few sites that will e-mail you the code. My sons current subscription cost £29 for 13 months.Dave. :wave:0 -
