If you go for the wireless adapter, Amazon have it for £51. Shopto.net have it for £50.

Another option is the Littlewoods direct route. If you're a new customer, you can get £30 off your first order over £60. They currently want £62 for the adapter. P&P is around £3.50, so you'd get it for somewhere in the region of £35.50.
They are quoting 10 days for delivery though.

The Littlewoods route is how I got my sons adapter.

Edit - Just to add that I found mymemory.co.uk have it for £39 delivered. I've seen mixed reviews about their service, so I'm not in a position to recommend them.

OK, make sure your router is on.

At the Xbox, press the X button in the middle.
    Go to the Settings tab.
    Go to System Settings.
    Go to Network Settings.
    Go to Configure Network.
The details will probably be empty on that page, but there should be a big green bar near the top with one of the lines stating 'wireless mode.'
    Press A.
Click on Scan for Networks and hopefully it'll pick up your router.
    Click on your network.
Assuming you're using WPA encryption on your router, put in the encryption key.
If all this works, the Xbox be connected to the router.

You can then try connecting to Xbox Live where you'll have to choose an on-line name. Try and make sure it's one your happy with as it costs if you want to change it.

You may need to download some updates too. It'll ask you first though.

Edit - I think it's been mentioned before, but you get 1 months free on Live once you've signed up. Once that's over you have to pay.

  • The WPA key is on the router.

Did the Xbox pick up your network as being WPA?

The key will be the same as what you used for your laptop to connect to the router.

Ach, it's come back "Not connected" . What am I doing wrong?

I've put in the WPA code it asked for and it searched for a bit but now it's come back with "not connected" again

It's recorded that it's a D-Link router but that's about it. It keeps saying Not connected and under Status says Your XBox360 wireless networking adapter cannot authenticate on your wireless network. Verify that your wireless security settings are correct.

Hi, thanks so much for your patience. I've now fallen out with the entire household.

I've tried every which way with the keys. It's all in caps, done spaces before dashes, no spaces before dashes, spaces between backslash/no spaces between. Goodness, my head is sore now.
I've taken the details from the D-Link thing on my computer so it can't be wrong. What on Earth am I doing wrong. Why am I so RUBBISH at this?
