Well just a small amount of good news for me yesterday, but I shall share it nontheless!
In the post I got a cheque from Next for £19.99 because my account was in credit and I didn't want them holding onto my money for no reason! Also in the post was our RAC renewal, at just over £100! We've not used them all year, so we were reluctant to spend this money again for little/no assistance. So I had a shop about and found Green Flag offering a similar deal for only £40, so money saved there!
A treat at lunchtime was using the Elizabeth Arden free perfume sample, as mentioned in Martin's email this week, and getting a lovely little bottle totally free!! :j

Wow - money from Next AND Arden perfume - that's certainly good news! Well done to all the debt-free wanabees, you are all so inspiring.
Well, ive got through the first 2 months of my DMP and have stuck to my budget despite my son's birthday party (thanks to Aldi) so am feeling v pleased with myself. Since my  moment I have paid off £350 and another £500 will go on Monday so that's £850 in the right direction!
Oh, and Ive got a Bodyshop party at my house tonight and have already collected over £100 worth of orders so that's lots of freebie treats heading in my direction soon..... :T
Keep posting the good stuff - it keeps me smiling whilst sitting here at lunchtimes avoiding the shops. xxI've learnt that life isnt about what you have it's about who have.:T0 -
Back to this wonderful thread to post some more good news
It is so uplifting reading everyone's big or small successes, keep 'em coming!
Payday this week and that means the loan payments have gone out :j So today, I owe £1,182.50 less than when I started posting on here
I am still waiting for A&L to send me the new account details through as I will be using it to pay off the Barclays OD with it. It was really good of them to offer me £1,300 interest free OD - I thought it was a good omen that the figure pretty much matches my Barclays OD
I will post again when I get rid of that 15.6% mean interest rateLeason learnt :beer:0 -
Just been doing some much needed sorting out of old paperwork and I came across not one, not two but THREE books of stamps I didn't know I had!
Yippee!
I am now 16 first class and 9 second class stamps better off AND they are marked 1st and 2nd so will still be able to use them when the postage goes up next month! FANDABIDOZI! :j
Oh yeh and it's Friday too HIP HIP HOORAY!!! :j

Well I've managed to pay off my Barclays debt after they made me an offer, £130 and paid £100!! Now all I have left is my Inland Revenue Child Tax Credit overpayment of £100 ish..hopefully I'll be able to pay that off by the end of April. They don't charge interest but it would at least leave me 11.14 a month better off0

My OH got beaten up by a gang of thugs a couple of years ago and finally got his letter telling him if he had been awarded any compensation from the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority and guess what.........
......he got £1500!!!
This post really made me laugh :rotfl: :rotfl: "OOOOhhh i got more good news my husband got beaten up by a gang of thugs" was all I read and then stopped thinking 'that is good news?' i'd hate to hear Alleycats bad news. Then i read the rest and realised that she is not mad, and it was the compensation that was the good news not your OH being beaten up. Anyway really pleased with you and I too agree find your debt with the highest APR or see if there is a debt you can completely pay off so you then have more disposable cash to pay off something monthly.
My good news is I have done 2 online surveys and signed up for 2 mystery shopping assignments today :TMay 2015 £10 a day currently £2080 -

Yes me too thought I was on the wrong thread for a minute had to read the first line again :rotfl:0 -
I made £6 today for absolute nowt!
The Sun had a free £3 bet with Coral so I signed up and placed it on the Gold Cup, Hedgehunter each way and he romped home in 2nd! They didn't payout the stake though! Tight wads!
But hey, still £6 in my pocket that I didn't have at the start of the day!0 -
My pay rise still hasn't come through in my latest payslip, despite having been promised it in January
This may seem like a bad thing, however the payrise would have put me over the student loan repayments limit and I would have been paying out £200 a month on that. Instead I've been told I'll get the backdated pay as a lump sum in June - six months at £500 per month = £3000!

Any chance we could start a new thread for this topic everyday like we do for 'how much have you spent today?'
I find it a great motivator hearing other people's good news!Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.0
