My good news is only small but it made me smile. I'm deliberately not buying chocolate and other nice goddies. Today the kids and I were peckish so I cooked chocolate chip cookies (Yummy) Number one daughter said "I like being poor the food's nicer"

OMG! I totally agree with you, my cheque came this morning and that's it! I have no idea what I'm doing with anything like that anyway and it was a one-off! :eek:Mortgage-free wannabe!0 -
I've really enjoyed reading this thread and now I have some good news!
OH cancelled his car insurance in January (as his car was off the road), but Norwich Union still took the payment a few days later. They refunded the money they had taken, but by then, OH's bank had charged him for going over his overdraft limit and for not having enough to pay his credit card - £59!
I wrote a letter on his behalf complaining and asking for the bank charges to be refunded and today he received a cheque refunding the £59... yay! Also got OH to cancel his credit card protection last month, saving £17 a month.
Before finding MSE, we would never even have thought of doing either of those things...0 -
After weeks of promising to do it today i finally got round to listing some books and vids on Amazon, and within 1 hr we have sold a book for £6 so it has been worthwhile already :jMay 2015 £10 a day currently £2080
