piptiddlepip wrote:My good news for today is that I got my compensation from DSG Group for a faulty laptop - I paid in their cheque yesterday so will be able to pay off another loan soon.
Also Discovered that I do not have to pay my self-employment taxes until next year, so am going to use all the money I made from the small business I ran over the summer (which I haven't touched) to pay off another debt.
This means I can snowball and brings my debt-free date forward by 2 months to March 2007! So in a year I will be debt free!
But you will have to pay them at some point - so make sure you've got them for then!:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Since joining this website little over 2 weeks ago I have been trying to get on top of my finances including numerous loans, 5 (maxed out) credit cards and a (maxed out) store card
We've been letting ourselves get into a little bit of bother over the last few months (well actually looking back it's been going on for years it's just got harder over the last few months) and were turned down for a loan recently (which I'm now glad about as I can see other ways forward thanks to this site
) so despite the advice about getting better credit card rates I was reluctant to apply for anymore.
Well now there's no need.I've been checking out my aprs in an effort to looking at snowballing and realised my store card was on a horrendous 29.9% :eek: Only paying the minimum payment (guilty as charged in the past
) would result in me paying it off until 2019 _pale_ and that's just ONE CARD _pale_
So I decided to phone my best apr rate card (Egg 15.9%) on the off chance that they would increase my credit limit to allow me to balance transfer (thinking there was no chance in the world but what harm would asking do) and you'll never guess (although I think you probably have by now given the length and waffling of this post :rolleyes: ) THEY ONLY CHUFFING AGREED IT DIDN'T THEY - WOOOOHOOOOOOO! :j :j :j :j :j
And a little pat on the back for me because she offered to up it even more to give me £500 spending money and I said NO! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
The spender in me is cursing me and thinking what I could have done with the extra but I don't care cos look this is me :A hahahaha :rotfl:
Ok think I'm getting a bit delerious now so I'll stop and give everyone peace, actually there's probably no-one left reading now
*looks round for everyone, shrugs and cartwheels off into the sunset*

Yesterday got a letter advising cheque of £40.56 on way due to ins policy being set up wrong.
Today got letter from JSA saying that on the £152.55 benefit which was taxable, they have overtaxed me and a refund of £68.80 is on it's way to my account.0 -

Ps I absolutely love this thread, it really makes me smile and feel positive, and it also helps me to focus on the positive things that have happened rather than the negative. :jMay 2015 £10 a day currently £2080 -

Well done everyone :T the success stories really keep me motivated thankyou. Please keep them coming. Half hour on here and i'm inspired again :T
Other good news while i'm here! changed my gas supplier so should be £100 a year better off and changing our phone so should be £7 a month better off. This will cover council tax rise! (didn't want to put an angry face on and spoil a happy thread)
