    Welcome Golden Girl :hello:

Since this post started, I haven't really had any good news to post, but today I have :T . Went to Tesco first thing this morning to buy my MIL a lovely bunch of the £5 flowers they were advertising and, yes, they had all gone (what a fab marketing ploy that was - get a few of the £5 bunches of flowers in each store to get people in - oops! sorry all sold out - oh well! now I am here better buy another bunch, which is half the size and twice the price!!!) - Only I didn't fall for their marketing ploy - Oh no!!

I went to a craft shop, spent £7.29 and made my MIL a lovely present instead. I am not a 'crafty' person, but am thrilled at the result!! :j It was lovely as it was such an awful day (rained here, didn't let up) and my DD and I spent the afternoon, cutting, sticking, making up poems and have a great time together (she's only 8 and loves all that sort of stuff) and the end result is a hand made gift for a MIL who has everything, but she couldn't buy this if she tried (ha! ha!) :D

A little bit of good news here today :)

My dad has been clearing out their garage in preparation for moving, and presented me today with a load of my old stuff (haven't seen most of it for about 10 years!). Anyway, in one of the bags, there was a smaller bag, containing £12.45 in loose change, that I'd clearly bagged up ready to take to the bank years and years ago, and never gotten around to doing!

So, I've counted it all up, and added it to all the loose change I already had, and now have £19 in change bagged up ready to bank tomorrow :D

Not a huge amount, but its going straight off of my credit card :j

No financial good news for me today (except an extra hours work for £35!!) but I took my dog to be assessed for her to be a Pets As Therapy dog (P.A.T dog)..........and she passed with flying colours, I am so proud of her.

That's wonderful! I'd hoped to be able to do this when I got my dog 6 years ago, but she is SO not suitable! She has left bruises on me jumping up wanting attention, and she's not even a big dog! Ah well, she's good therapy for ME anyway! I don't know what I'd do without her! And the one part of my debt that I don't at all regret is the money it cost to bring her to the UK! :smileyhea

My good news is that I was approved for an A&L current account and an Intelligent Finance BT card. As soon as I know what my OD and credit limit will be, I can start planning how to best resettle our debt. And it's nice seeing the 50 verified sitting in my Quidco balance for the A&L :)

    Debt-free and Proud! Mortgage-free Glee!
    Good news!

I've finally had the clothes clear out that I've been promising myself - I now have a box full of clothes that I never wear & are in good condition which will shortly be listed on ebay. The box isn't totally full as my sister has had a good look through and taken a few bags of clothes home for herself.

I also have a box of 'stuff' which will also be listed on ebay. Can't wait to start listing!

My good news today is that my husband turned to me last night, and said all the work I am doing working off ideas from this site is creating a little part time income for us and it also means I get to stay at home with my youngest. This really cheered me because it feels so nice to contribute, and also I know the money I am making/saving now is only going to get more and more. :j

Well my good news was from Friday. OH had won tickets to Ideal Home Show, so I hoped for lots of freebies available! In the end we got 2 free packets of dishwasher tablets (alas we don't own one!), a couple of pens and a nail file! But good fun was had and I got to meet TV's Penny Poyzer so I was happy!!

But I digress! There was a charity scratchcard for the Anthony Nolan Trust, so a worthy cause for £1 and from that I won £5!! Not much, but when I get the £5 through that'll go into an account somewhere for safekeeping! :j
