Hi everyone!
Nothing to do with money saving, but hearing this news has made all my money thoughts go away....
My best friend has today delivered her second child, a healthy baby boy.
I'm raising a glass and thinking nice happy thoughts - hope you can all set aside your money situation too tonight, just for a while, to think of something nice.

I have made the last payment on my DFS sofa covers today. I actually didnt pay it off any quicker, it was due to end this month but it is still 1 debt down and me £40.00 per month richer. I would have actually finished 18 months ago but I changed my colour scheme ( like you do ) and needed different coloured covers :rolleyes::cool: Official DFW Nerd Club Member #37 Debt free Feb 07 :cool:0 -

I checked my online banking last night, and my bank charges money has gone in!! Thats almost £3k! :j
I've already cleared my final interest charging CC with it, and as soon as the payment is showing (hate it that it takes a few days!) I will call and cancel it
All my debt is now on 0%, so I think I will stash the remainder in my A&L account, so it is earning me 5% interest until just before the first 0% deal runs out. I've worked out that if I do that (continuing to pay the minimums obviously!), and pay any 'extra' payments I would otherwise have made in there too, I will have enough in there come July to pay my Amazon card off before the 0% ends in August, and then if I do the same for Egg, barring disasters, I will have enough to clear that in November!!! Doing it this way will earn me an extra £40/50 in interest, that I wouldn't have got if I just paid it off the 0% cards now, which is fantastic
My main focus now is going to be finding some more money between now and then, to bring my DFD forward another month, to October :j
I move next month, which is going to cost me a fair bit, but I've factored all of that in, otherwise it'd be even sooner!
I am a VERY happy bunny todayHighest Debt (Sept 04) -> £41,300Debt Free - August 2006!!

Chortle - That's such fantastic news. 3K wow! You've thought out the best way for you to use it too. Hope you can bring you DFD forward by another month - i'm sure you've checked on the other boards to make sure your house moving is a cheep as possible. I'm gonna have to do that soon myself as I'm going to have to move before Sept (rented to another rented so not quite as expensive as it could be but i still have to find a deposit somewhere)Current Mortgage - £156,633:eek:Expecting baby no. one on 27th Oct 20100

Well, I was expecting it (had a letter late last week, saying they'd pay up - so I've been checking my account 20+ times a day ever since :rotfl:) so it wasn't a total shock, but I did let out a squeal of delight (oh alright then, a scream lol) and I did a little dance in my chair (cue despairing looks from 3 cats!) - does that count?
Glad its made your day as well - I think it has made my yearHighest Debt (Sept 04) -> £41,300Debt Free - August 2006!!
