reminds me of the time i had a phone call from someone claiming to be from "the water company" (couldn't state the name) demanding to know who lived next door. I said i don't know; good bye. Very strange.
BTW I rang the water company and they admitted that they do, do this!

    atrocious spelling

What a great contribution to this thread

The OP may have dyslexia or similar so rather than play hard ball a piece of advice would have been better.

PS. A opening sentence has a capital letter so it would have been Atrocious not atrocious. :rotfl:

But its also possible that they were from the jobcentre - they should have showed you ID though, without even being asked

wait u r all jumping the gun, i toLD U what i know, all i said to them was in dont know , they saked whio lived there, i said i didnt know... im tell you what i know but now what it told them.... my spelling and sentancing structure could have made the post look teh wrong way now i real, and yes they did have id , thoses badges around there neck. i looked at them to see the pictures and state the names they said. i just am worried they may come back asking more... or can they tak the fact that i said i dont know, and make it like, "it would be impossible to know"

If they were genuinely from the Jobcentre, why didn't you answer their questions?

They were probably fraud investigtors conducting a 'Living Together' investigation and wanting to know whether you and your neighbours regard her and the alleged partner as a couple that live together. Anything that you would have said would have been marked as sensitive and won't be used in court. If you would have been willing to give more information they would have asked you whether you would be willing to sign it in the form of a witness statement and attend court if necessary. You would have the right to say no (incase you get this again).
