I'm gutted just found this posting after doing a google search on Perfume Emporium,...unfortunatly too late as I've already ordered and parted with my money! I'm at dispatched stage at the moment and have little hope now of ever seeing the goods which is upsetting as it was for my mums birthday!

So annoyed with myself for not checking before i paid :(

have you checked with your bank?

Yes, I have checked with my bank and they can see no evidence of any refund or credit to my account being 'processed' from the perfume emporium.

JOHNSTONE1, Has the money left your account yet? You may be able to halt the transaction if you get onto your bank quickly?? I guess that depends on how much you trust/expect that your goods will actually turn up?!? Have we dented your expectation?

Please let us know if the goods do arrive though.

If you can request from 'Chris' the Royal Mail recorded delivery number I think we should perhaps follow the advice of 'Ivory Tinkler' and pass details of the Perfume Emporiums claims about the amount of 'lost' items to the Royal Mail and see what their take on it is?

Yes the money left my account as soon as I placed the order...clearly quick at taking the money!

After reading all this and the reviews on other sites I'm not expecting to ever recieve my perfume, I will of course let you know if I do but I'm not holding my breath.

Will email him today and ask for my fake tracking number and await his response!

Johnstone1, make sure you use the 'support desk' on the contact page of the emporium website to raise tickets when contacting 'Chris', he doesn't seem to reply to the support@theperfumeemporium.co.uk email address.

You can always try chris@theperfumeemporium.co.uk and see if he responds to that though??

I'd recommend that you keep all email/ticket correspondence and keep a record of your order number and dates etc so that you can feed back to Unitedhosting once you decide to register a complaint (after 30 days from requesting a cancellation and refund because of goods not received).

Hope you are seeing this Matt Wallis, here's another case, lets see what happens?

    Good luck ;)

The 30 days are now up for me - no goods received, nor my requested refund. I have sent another email to "Chris" to ask where it is ... I hope I don't receive the stock answer "the bank is holding on to it" as my bank assures me they have seen nothing from perfumeemporium ... I'll keep you posted .. :(
  • Johnstone1. There is a slim chance that your order might be fulfilled. (I can't believe I'm saying that after all I went through). However, I base this on Matt's earlier posting that Chris has 30 transactions a week and has been in business for 2 years+.

Unfortunately, if you are one of the many unsatisfied customers then you WILL be in for a long wait. My advice is this, as soon as the 5 day delivery period expires, raise a ticket with theperfumeemporium and as soon as Chris replies, request a refund. This will initiate your 30 day period. You could take the line that you have decided you do not want the product and that if it arrives you will pay to post it back. I think this is one of our statuatory rights? You will likely get his response that you have to wait 15 days for Royal Mail, this is a grey area and the main reason we should all contact Royal Mail.

I'm not sure but after the 5 days you may be able to specify that you want the refund straight away. I don't think the distance selling regulations allow an additional 15 days waiting for a royal mail investigation. I believe it is from initiation of the contract. The only way Chris can extend the 30 days is by informing us BEFORE or during the transaction. Waiting on the Investigation could mean 45 days before you have a chance of receiving YOUR money back.

Be prepared for this sequence of events.

    1. You pay good money in good faith
    2. You don't receive your order
    3. You raise a ticket and are contacted by a dismayed and apologetic Chris. He will ask you to wait 15 days.
    4. You wait (although at this stage you may be able to initiate the refund. Perhaps Matt Wallis will have a better take on the regulations?).
    5. Royal Mail lose the resent package, *ahem*.
    6. You would then request the refund.
    7. You would get the response that the refund has been processed, it will take between 48 hours and 30 days (Why!!!!!!).
    8. The only guarentee unfortunately is that if you are one of the many people that have been through this process, you WILL wait nearer 40 days from this refund request. If like me this could be 76+ days since parting with your money.

Make sure you specify dates and ask for Chris to confirm. Although he still misses them. Sooner or later this guy will go out of business, I feel sorry for the people awaiting refunds then .

If you don't receive your goods within 5 days, go and buy your mum something else!

Well I emailed UnitedHosting complaining again about the lack of refund/goods - I'm astonished. According to them Chris has informed them that I have had my refund. I certainly haven't ... grrr

my oh had same issue when he tried to get me some perfume for valentine's day... 'lost in the post' twice, eventually refunded after over 6 weeks and several strongly worded emails.

OH is of the opinion that they are paying what they get from people into a high interest account, not sending anything and making 6 weeks worth of interest. when you consider how many people order from it, they must be making a bucketload of cash if they really are doing that:eek: isn 't that money laundering??:eek:
Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession :o:o
  • I can't beleive what I'm reading! I work for an online store myself and I know refunds are very simple to make - at most there's a 3 day period while the funds clear!
Good luck to everyone still waiting for their reunds!
