How about an update from united hosting? hows the investigation going? does this still look like a reputable outfit? how many more people are going to have money taken only for a long long delay before recieving it back?0

Hi
The people who have reported to us, are having refunds processed.
The shop is not a scam, but is indeed rather slow/inefficient at conducting refunds or handling problems. The Head Honcho (does very little work)0 -

Matt,
Glad to see that you are still taking an active interest in this case.
I have fed back my details to your team and await for my 30 day period to elapse (23 July) before I receive my refund from The Perfume Emporium.
I see that 'Chris' has refunded some of the other people on this forum which is good news. I wonder though did it take the very existence of this forum and the pressure applied from determined & unsatisfied 'customers' to get these refunds processed at all??
I also wonder how many other people out there who haven't gone down the same route as the rest of us and pursued this further have lost their money (and would they look like successfully fulfilled orders to you?).
I still remain VERY sceptical about this whole operation to be honest. I would love to see some positive feedback about The Perfume Emporium from people who have received their goods first time around without any problems.
This time next week I hope to have my £30 back in my bank account :j0 -
Rooies - I too was 'unlucky' enough to have two parcels lost by Royal Mail sent from theperfumeemporium during my saga. (I'd be interested to find out what Royal Mail think of the reputation they are receiving thanks to Chris Collings). It appears as though the very slim chance of this happening is increased when you post from Mansfield
.
This is speculation but it seems that there are many people basically loaning money to this business (interest free). This must look good on the cash flow for a month or two. It may also help when buying stock I'd imagine??
The good news is that, it seems that each of the irate customers on here will actually receive their money back but unfortunately it may take a while. Definitely the full 30 days defined in the Distance Selling Regulations, counted from the refund request date. Hang in there.
The bad news is that I suspect that with the growing complaints and reviews that theperfumeemporium is amassing, it may not be long before the people waiting for refunds may find they are less than successful. This is the real reason to avoid buying from them in the future!
Whether United Hosting played an integral part in my refund, I'll never know. All I can say is that I was over the 30 day term that the distance selling regulations defines and a few days after contacting Matt's company, I actually received the money. (Not another e-mail from Chris saying that it has/had/will/should/might/may/could be processed).
I did suggest to UnitedHosting that whilst Chris Collings may not actually be stealing our money, it may be that as the complaints and forums grow, they may not want to be associated with his company anyway. May be more hassle than its worth. I guess thats revenue dependant though.
You may be interested to hear that in one of my last e-mails to Chris Collings I posted a number of links to the many review sites which he is mentioned on (very much mainly bad reviews). I also drew his attention to the site canyoutrustthem.com which he is featured on. I congratulated him on the fact that he has reached the dizzying heights of joint 22nd (at time of posting) in the ‘Companies most complained about’ league. Perhaps with the help of many of his ‘customers’ on here we could help him up the league a bit further!0 -

Revenue for us does not come into it. We have to treat each complaint about one of our clients on its merits (not on previous cases or internet posts). If something is not dealt with fairly after a complaint to us is received, then we would cease hosting the site. Similarly if it was proven fraud or scamming we would cease hosting of the site.
As it stands all complaints to us, have either been refunded by now, or are in hand for being refunded within timeframes allowed.
We have yet to have 1 case reported to us which is not resolved fully by Chris/PerfumeEmporium so on this basis we would continue hosting the website.
I'm glad to help anyone who still needs it.The Head Honcho (does very little work)0 -
Finally got a refund 40 days after cancelling (a full 2 months from ordering), and after emailing "Chris" every morning to remind him.0

Well what a surprise....
Was I kidding myself when I expected to receive my refund as the 30 day deadline passed today (23rd July)....
I see that some refunds are being processed, I guess mine is in the queue....0 -
This is what Chris said on 30th June "The refund was processed on the 22nd June and it has not been returned. I would suggest contacting your bank as they may be holding the funds"
True to form 'Chris' has offered me exactly the same response for the delay in my refund after I chased him up today (23rd July - 30 days now elapsed) :
Hello,
The refund was processed on the 16th July. Please check this with your bank as they may be holding the funds although this is rare. I ask this because the funds have not been returned to us.
Please keep me updated.
What a ridiculous statement. Why would my bank 'hold onto' funds that were being refunded to my account?!?!?!?! This guy takes the biscuit....
I have informed Unitedhosting abuse that my 30 days are now up and that I have not received the refund.0 -
have you checked with your bank? The Head Honcho (does very little work)0

Everyone affected by this refund nightmare should contact Royal Mail - after all it is Royal Mail that is being blamed for the loss of these orders and I just cannot believe that they are losing so many parcels from one company! I think it might be time for Royal Mail to investigate these losses as something isn't quite right!0
