The Perfume Emporium have stolen my money

The Verified by Visa info is really useful - thank you so much! I ordered from PE on 30th April & having become increasingly suspicious of the constant fobbing off from Chris Collins I finally found all the postings on this & other websites. I rang my credit card provider, & they seem very willing to ensure I get my money refunded. I also emailed PE & requested a refund, quoting the Sale of Goods Act etc, & said that as I wasn't optimistic he would voluntarily refund me, I had informed MBNA & they would be pursuing him on my behalf. Within about five minutes I had a reply from Chris stating I would have a refund as requested.
In the event that this happens speedily I will let you all know, as it's less of a hassle than threatening him with court action &/or waiting interminably for something to happen.
I've also made a complaint to Trading Standards & intend to contact SagePay & the website host - but why is this man still trading, it's unbelievable!0 -
Well, yet another similar story: I "bought" perfume on the 5th April, and was told it had been dispatched on the 9th. I had to wait 15 working days to prove non-delivery, after which I asked for a refund; that then gave Chris another 30 days. At the end of that time I had my refund, with no chasing by the credit card company or threats of legal action.
It seems at present that Chris stretches out the time to its maximum in each case, and it's probably as simple as him having found a very cheap way of borrowing money for his business at far less than commercial rates. A novel way of keeping it afloat, but it does beg the question what will happen to the last cutomers to have their money on loan when it all finally goes down the pan, and I think we all know the answer to that.
Makes you mad :mad:0 -
Got my money back today via my bank..because I paid with visa debit and had signed up to the verify extra security:DObstacles are things a person sees when he takes his eyes off his goal.0

Slightly off the PE topic... but your posts on here make me feel a bit better... I have bought a kitchen appliance that cost over £500 from a site that is ISIS and IDIS accredited, but whom I have since found from reviews (AFTER I ordered) that they appear to be a bit dodgy (I won't name them at this stage)..
Anyway, I am really worried as I paid using my Barclays Visa Debit, but it did go through "Verified by Visa"... so I am PRAYING that this will save me if the company definately don't deliver! (I haven't contacted Barclays yet... I'm going to give the company a chance)Then it comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel....
was just a Freight Train coming your way...

Hello,
I have also had the same problem with perfume emporium. I ordered from them on the 1st June 10 and it totalled £67.85. I have still not recieved the order and I have sent numerous emails with no reply. How do I go about claiming my money back? As I have had no reply to my emails?
Please help??0 -
The Perfume Emporium are still scamming people including myself and i also came across the reviews whilst trying to find contact details. The reason i am posting is because today i discovered i have been the victim of fraud on the card i paid with, to the tune of nearly £200! Now i am not in any way accusing the perfume emporium of being responsible for this, as that would be libellous. I would simply like to point out how important it is to be vigilant as this is the second time in a month that i have been the victim of some sort of scam!0

I have used them, they only way I got my money back was to say I was going to take them to court, even then it took 4 months :T but they paid up. All I will say DO NOT USE THEM EVER0

I have had the exact same emails from Chris the latest today -
Please accept my apologies. The refund process is taking longer than expected.
We are in financial difficulty and are doing everything that we can to resolve our refund list.
Your refund will be with you asap and your patience is appreciated.
Chris
