I notice that TPE is an American website, so perhaps that longer delivery chain has some flaws ...

Hi Geoff2, don't mistake theperfumeemporium.co.uk with theperfumeemporium.com - they are 2 different companies - the US version is legitimate, the UK version is the dodgy one. After the hassle I had with the co.uk site, I still wanted my perfume - I ended up ordering it through Amazon, which used the US site (yes, I must admit I was somewhat nervous when ordering because of the name, but as it was through Amazon, I thought what the heck and used a CC this time! Yes, I did get my perfume!). The US version even had a disclaimer on the Amazon site stating they had nothing to do with a similarly named UK website ...

I bet the dotcom company has been receiving complaints which would account for them putting a disclaimer on their site so I bet there are loads of other disgruntled customers out there that haven't been part of this thread. Out of interest, now that TPE have moved, has anyone had their refunds or an update on their refund status or has Chris now disappeared?
  • The site has down for maintenance or something and I havent recieved my refund. it was due on 9th August and that being a sunday I'm thinking it would be credited to my account today. Just getting slightly worried with the site being down and all. Maybe I'll stop panicing.......
  • Same situation as everyone else - however, I am planning on reporting this company to the HM Customs and Excise as he is not only stealing our money but he is adding VAT onto our orders which is a criminal offence if he has no intention of sending the goods.
If more people report this guy, it's possible that might bring him and his scam website down.
    His VAT Number is: 924592801
To report him, the number of fraud at HM Custom and Excise is 0845 595 000
    Lets see if this works!
p.s. sorry if anyone else has already had this idea and posted it early on!
  • Found this while searching online....
    255 Ladybrook Lane
    Mansfield
    NG19 6PZ
    United Kingdom
Might be handy when sending registered letters as required by the Trading Standards for making claims.
  • I've been reading the forum and have found out the new host of his site (although it seems terribly similar to the previous host):
    Sentry Hosting
    and their complaint address is:
    abuse@sentryhosting.co.uk
They function in exactly the same way as United Hosting, same layout, reponse to emails etc. Seems a little fishy to me.

I did a lookup on whois for sentryhosting.co.uk, the registered address for this company is ...

    255 Ladybrook Lane
    Mansfield
    NG19 6PZ
    United Kingdom

Hmm... somehow sending tickets to the abuse team at sentryhosting may not get you very far, seeing as the address registered for perfumemporium is the same (and now it seems that the site is down too! *edit* no, it's not, user error!)

Biggirlsblouse, I'd be interested to know how you found out that the 'new' host is SentryHosting???

It's VERY interesting that the 'new' address that appears on TPE website is :

    The Perfume Emporium
    42 Glenloch Drive
    Clifton
    Nottingham
    NG11 9AH

and the address for sentryhosting (http://www.sentryhosting.co.uk/contact.php)

    is also

    42 Glenloch Drive
    Nottingham
    NG11 9AH

    :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

If sentry hosting are the new hosts then we can get to them via the firm who are managing the billing :
