What have others done to ensure they get their money back?
Assuming you have made a request for cancellation & refund from 'Chris' you will have to wait the obligatory 30 days before you can flag this up to Matt Wallis from United Hosting who seems to be doing a great job of administering the refund process on behalf of T.P.E.
You can contact abuse@unitedhosting.co.uk and give them your order number, date of order and name on order and they will do the rest (kind hearted souls that they are).
Good luck :rolleyes:0 -
I would note at this point that as of 17th August I/our abuse team will not be able to continue helping people, as this is the date that the hosting agreement Chris and UnitedHosting had will come to an end.The Head Honcho (does very little work)0

A very wise decision Matt :T :j
Thanks for all your assistance on this case.
I feel for all the people who have placed orders and won't be able to guarantee getting their money back.0 -
oh dear I guess that will be the date he packs up and runs off with our money then!
My "30 days" wont come within that date so I guess I can kiss goodbye to any hopes of my refund0 -
When is the refund due? Is it 30 days from the day you requested the refund? If so I requested my refund on 8th July.
Got a response back on 9th July0 -
I think 30 days from when he replys to say they are issuing a refund0

I believe it's 30 (calender) days from the date you actually request the refund, so Friday 7th of August for you I think.0 -
Those who are concerned, I have firm believe that just because our hosting of the site ends, the site will not disappear. The company seems legitimate (as I keep saying) and I am sure the site will simply be placed on another hosting company, and continue to trade, and continue to deal with refunds in the currently inefficient manor that they are.
Keep batting at it, so far nobody has actually failed to get their money back, as long as you have the staminaIts also a great highlight of the importance of using a CREDIT CARD for online/mailorder so you have the protection thats in place on this payment method.

A sensible decisionGood luck with everyone else getting their money back, and thanks again Matt with your help. The whole sorry saga for me thankfully only ran on for about 7 weeks, goodness knows how much longer it would have been had it not been for Matt!
