You really can't match multiple monitors if you need more space to work with. Having the flexibility to go from landscape to portrait really is handy for maximising what you've got too.
I agree. For me, the optimum working arrangement would be to have two 24" pivotable monitors, angled, one on either side of a 30" monitor. For others, it might be to have a 24" centrally, in portrait mode, flanked by two others in landscape mode. Everybody's needs are different but multiple monitors make a tremendous difference and greatly increase one's efficiency.
If you're using a laptop on a desk, you're usually limited to one external monitor in addition to its own display but I've just recently come across this device which offers some interesting possibilities. They've been around for a while but this is the first one I've seen with full Mac compatibility. It even works through a USB2 hub and you can deploy up to six monitors if you buy more than one of these ingenious little gizmos. They're bus powered and (currently) support screen resolutions of up to 1600 x 1200 - or 1680 x 1050 - in 32 bit colour at 60 Hz. The accessories include a DVI to HDMI swivel adaptor, too.
I'm planning on ordering a couple, online, this weekend.
Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:
As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.
