Your screen resolution of choice

800 x 600 at 72hz on my LG crt screen. I like it at that size and why should I change? Maybe when I finally upgrade to an LCD screen I will have a different resolution but that will only be because LCD's look best at their own defined resolution.

Tell me about it - very annoying isn't it? It's even the wrong aspect ratio (4:3 on a 5:4 display) so everything looks the wrong shape as well as the loss of quality due to not matching the screen resolution. I just don't get it.I see this at work all the time, we all have the same monitor which are 19" TFT with a 1280x1024 native resolution. I would say 98% of people in this office use 1024x768 "because everything is too small". I am one of the 2% who likes a clear image and the extra working space.
I always change it when I go to another computer just to be asked to change it back sometime later, I always try educating them but it never works.2kWp Solar PV - 10*200W Kioto, SMA Sunny Boy 2000HF, SSE facing, some shading in winter, 37° pitch, installed Jun-2011, inverter replaced Sep-2017 AND Feb-2022.0 -

At my last place, i gathered some info on this and found something like 98% of users use 1024x768 upwards. (2 years ago)
That said, I think laptop use has become a lot more popular since then, so that's something to think about.
At the mo, I'm running 1680x1050(22" wide) on the left and 1440x900 (14" lappy) on the right.0 -

Is there really any point in these, I think that res at 22" is pointless. Using a 40" screen at 1920x1080 I can see the pixels are very small, smaller screen = smaller pixels so how small must they be on a 17" monitor?Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017

1152x864 at work, 1024x768 at home.
When my new monitor (and PC) arrive next week, that may change a bit though - its native resolution is 1920 x 1080. Only cost me 130 notes too!0
