    Definitely a duff filter-swap it out for a different one and the problem should go away.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    Instructions on how to remove the bell wire are here (please note this DOES NOT interfere with the BT side of the master socket, so it legel and it bl00dy well works ;):-

    Tozer, do this and it'll improve your sync (speed) and stability of the ADSL signal entering the router. It won't however, make up for a crap router ;)

    Bell wire is already off. Just have a and b wires connected. The filter is as supplied by O2 BB in the self install kit. Will try the other one.
