Hi all
Thanks for the suggestions. I am away from home at the moment but will put it all to the test and report back.
I have left the old AOL filters in place (they are only about 12 months old) but will use the O2 filters. Like I said, there is only one phone connected (with 3 handsets serviced from it).
Plenty of suggestions to try - thanks!0 -
In the UK it's 1 6 and 11, and if it's a wireless phone it might be interfering...
No, in the UK any one of thirteen different channels can be used.
A site survey needs to be performed to establish which channels are in use in that location before setting a channel in the router. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
You wouldn't want to use every single one though as they overlap

It's still worth a shot though I guess0 -
Most likely cause is interference from DECT phone with wireless router. I've just moved to O2/Be and i have a similar issue which I'm going to troubleshoot. I have my PC ethernetted to the router and noted that when using dect phone close to router, lost ADSL connection and slight noise on line. Hung up, connection restored. I believe DECT and Wireless freqs are close?0

Just as an updated....
Changed all the filters that I previously had with the BT one.
Wireless - still drops within 1 minute of using phone. Internet simply drops although it still seems to be connected to router (local only).
Tried it with ethernet cable and all ok. My conclusion is that the DECT phone is interfering with the O2 wireless box. Not good eh?
Any suggestions? Can't permanently connect using ethernet cable and can't really avoid using the DECT phone.0 -
Change the channel on the router.
Espressos post is a bit nerdy but you can see the channels.
If you are on 6 now, move it to 12 or something (have a play about)
What is the model of the DECT phone, maybe you can see the frequency of it and look at espressos table above0 -

OK called O2 and they changed the channel. Seemed to work but hung up and it went to "Local Only". Diagnosed problem and it reset to get the internet again.
Bit of a search on O2's forum and it seems reasonably common.

How close is your dect base station to the router? Can you move it to another location in the property as far away as possible? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0
