have just tried this and when i put a new sim in it came up with 'sim registration failed'. Does that mean its still locked to orange? It still had the orange logo come up on screen when i turned it on.

What network are you trying to use.

i tried Tmobile and O2 as they were the sims i had spare. What I really need to put in is an asda sim but I haven't got it yet. I was just trying to see if it was unlocked.

When you puit in the code did it say phone restrition off

I am having just this issue

Nokia 6103 from T-Mobile to unlock, I entered the code and it said phone restriction off but now with an orange sim card in, it says "sim registration failed"

When I did the unlock it had a (very old) virgin simcard in, is that causing the problem?

I have put 2 more codes in (with the orange sim inside) and it said phone already unlocked or similar message.

Perhaps your Orange sim needs activeting first

It works fine in the old phone. I have had the SIM for about 4 months.

I just bought a Nokia 6600i, it was an unwanted upgrade on VIRGIN and came in a sealed box. I enquired about unlocking with market stalls & professional unlockers to be told it is not possible as there is no unlocking codes for this model yet. I unpacked the phone and loaded my o2 sim, only to discover the handset is unlocked. This was a pleasant surprise and I thought worth sharing.
