Free Unlock codes for Nokia Phones 8 (U.K. Networks Only)

Hi,

That's what i figured, but when I put my Giffgaff (O2) SIM in it says "SIM not valid" and I can't access the menu to re-direct the network setting.

Does your giffgaff need registering first.

The Giffgaff SIM is working fine in another phone, but the other phone is playing up so I want to use my old nokia handset.

It's a BB5 phone and can be unlocked only if paid for, as there are no free remote codes. Contact a pro unlocker/market stall or your network provider. You can do it yourself if you wish, go to post 2452

Sorry, I'm being thick now. Do you mean both at once or sequentially? If sequentially should I try the giffgaff SIM in between, or only after I've applied both?

:j You are a hero! I tried first the +1 code which gave the message “phone was not restricted” as before, then without trying the SIM I entered the +2 code which gave the message “phone restriction off”, then the giffgaff SIM worked!!!:j

The Motorola handset seems to have ground to a halt altogether, but now I can use the nokia for my giffgaff SIM.:D

Joy shortlived I’m afraid.:(


When I first put the giffgaff SIM in the display showed first “O2 UK” and then “giffgaff”, but when I tried to send a text it failed to send and when I looked at the display again there was no network name shown and no signal indicated. There isn’t normally a problem with O2 signal here. I tried switching the phone on and off again but this time there was no network shown on the display at all.

It doesn’t say the SIM is invalid as it did before you showed my how to unlock it, and it does give me access to the menu, but if I go into network settings and select O2-UK manually it says ”no access”

Any ideas what is going on now?
