    Joy shortlived I’m afraid.:(

When I first put the giffgaff SIM in the display showed first “O2 UK” and then “giffgaff”, but when I tried to send a text it failed to send and when I looked at the display again there was no network name shown and no signal indicated. There isn’t normally a problem with O2 signal here. I tried switching the phone on and off again but this time there was no network shown on the display at all.

It doesn’t say the SIM is invalid as it did before you showed my how to unlock it, and it does give me access to the menu, but if I go into network settings and select O2-UK manually it says ”no access”

Any ideas what is going on now?
I don't know the problem here, enter the codes again.

I am retired and new to all this but would like to unlock a Nokia 2600 type RH59 with a Virgin sim. I have tried with the various web sights which seem to provide different codes? I always finnish up with a code error.
    My IMEI No. 356230005395929
I am not sure if I need to have another network sim card in the phone when putting the code in.

The phone is in new condition and works perfectly. I was given it by my son who would not be seen dead with a Nokia 2600:j

Some help on this would be very welcome. Thanks.

It's a DCT4+ phone and can be unlocked only if paid for, as there are no free remote codes. Contact a pro unlocker/market stall or your network provider.

    Hi,

I tried them both again. Both times I got the message “phone was not restricted”. When I put the giffgaff SIM in there was no network displayed and no signal indicated. When I went to network settings and manually selected O2-UK it said “no access”

I have read elsewhere about +7 codes. Do you know anything about that? I understand there are different locking protocols, DCT3 and DCT4. Are there others besides those? Is it possible there is another layer of locking?

I've been on the giffgaff forums and am not the only one having problems getting giffgaff signal on this model of phone after it has been unlocked. No one was offering any answers though. Is it possible that the problem is with giffgaff/O2?

It’s odd that it showed the network briefly when first unlocked but not since. Like something else kicked in. Any ideas?

Your phone is unlocked with the codes given and I agree there are some problems with giffgaff on the 3310. the only thing you can do is to try a factory reset. Go to settings, restore factory settings, if asked for a code key in 12345. Hope it helps.
