Sorry, it's a DCT4+ phone and can only be unlocked if paid for, as there are no free remote codes. Contact your network provider, market stall/pro unlocker.

Yes, but not for free as it's a BB5 phone, you will have to contact your network provider/market stall or a pro unlocker.

I just came across the "universal SIM unlock card" on eBay (do an ebay search for that phrase). The idea is it is a very thin circuit and chip which slips between your SIM card and the phone, the chip on it fools the phone into thinking that your SIM is for the network the phone is locked to. Makes sense to me that it could work, and if so provides a neat solution to unlocking BB5 and other types of mobiles which are hard to unlock. The cheapest ones require cutting the SIM card a little, others do not.
They are mostly from Hong King sellers (*alarm bells*!) but so very cheap (about £2) that I think it might be worth a try.
Has anybody tried one, do they really work?

I know this topic is pretty old, but I'm hoping the original helper is still available to help me.

I have a Nokia 5530 Xpress Music
Its locked to the Virgin Network
The IMEI number is 358307035546438

I would be so happy as I purchased this phone where the original owner kept the sim, and I didn't think to even ask if it was locked to a network.
