BB5 I’m afraid, there are no free remote codes, but your network provider/market stall, or a pro unlocker can help here. There are also remote codes that you can obtain from the web on certain networks, but very expensive

I have a Nokia 6500 slide and after searching through the internet found that unlock codes do not work.
So today i went to a unlocking shop in Manchester and they have said that they will provide an unlock code from Orange and it will take 2 days to obtain.This cost me £20.I have to ring them in 2 days for them to give me an unlock code from Orange.Does this sound normal for this type of thing and do you think it should work when they give me the code?
Is Orange's code more likely to work than the free ones on the internet?
Also when i enter the new code does the other network's sim card have to be in or out of the phone?
Sorry for the long post but all this is new to me.:D

It sounds ok, as they will obtain the code direct from the Orange server, which will take about 2/4 days. I don't know which model you have, but by the sound of it it's a BB5 phone, which there are no free remote codes.

it cannot be unlocked for free, you need to pay your network for the code or pay a shop/market stall to do it
