Ive just tried a friends tesco sim in the phone & it seems to be unlocked. I find this strange as I bought the phone new from tesco direct. Hey ho it worked ok though, so who am i to moan

The other phone didn't work that he bought from ebay, waste of time after all.

He has been given another phone now but needs to unlock it still.

It is locked to virgin
and the details are

it is a Nokia 3510
the serial number is 351354204781088
