Hi Happy, I've missed you too! I'm good thanks, keeping busy, not getting on too well with the debtbusting but trying to keep at it.

You have done so well with paying yours down this year, that's fab! To be in the £55ks is great. It's still over £12k less than you owed last year so you should be really pleased!

I think I'll try and join a challenge if they do one next year, see how far I can get.

I love your list of places you want to go to, I might do one myself to motivate me. I've been to a few on your list, and want to go to several more!

A couple of years ago, DH and I went pootling around Scotland in our camper van. It was such a fab holiday, and we camped one night at Eilean Donan castle. It was lovely. However, from that point on, every single image we saw of Scotland seemed to feature that castle, so it's become a bit of a standing joke with us, we couldn't seem to get away from it!

Hello people or anyone that may read this sorry i have been absent i have been circulating in other peoples diaries or busy working or moaning or adding salt to wounds you know the usual feelings of the debt and the sudden realisation its ones own fault :p:A Anyway i figured today was the day for a new start not a new diary it would be a shame to waste the 5000 rule so i managed to pay £12592.98 (2010) in the crimbo challenge i was hoping for 20k but as i am sure we all set out with bug frugal dreams and we seem to think we can manage on water alone to get through the year :rotfl:i do admire my faith in these plans :T but alas it proves not to work and i have done abit more spending that anticipated none for the greater good of debts more for the greater good of me :o but anyway i am back with some sort of a plan or at least i like to think so i am joing the pay a percentage challenge hence why i have split my figures to unsecured and secured debt ..... the secured debt is at a fixed rate until sept 2012 im hoping well before then i can destroy the unsecured debt but i dont know how soon so i am relying on the brain cells i have to work this out :)

Looking at our monthly income £****.** we at the moment pay out a whopping £1500 on financial debts that does not include mortgage etc etc etc in total a month we should always have £2781.76 available for commitments to some thats alot to me its a hell of a lot better than when we first first started this journey :rotfl:im going on rough estimates now since when i pay stuff intrest will be deducted but a month after intrest i can deduct .... £745.16 that means somewhere in the paying of debt our intrest eats 750ish  the sheer cheek of it but i accept that so let us see now what this means in terms of pay targets i would like to pay £1000 a month off after intrest deducted so that means an extra 254.84 a month to find which is more than doable but i like to meet my targets so im not stretching the limits just yet that means i can pay 13k by next december which means a total of £42801.52 thats better than what it was but i would much rather do better than that but i shall start small and hopefullt well over reach my target and start 2012 in better stead i know money will not fall from the sky so to speak but it is a nice thought so now in the work out scheme in the percentage thing i want to pay 23% of my debt off in a year it seems a meer task but in numbers its big id love to say 50% but then i know im pushing myself to realms that would mean a disappointed siggy we all know its hard and we all hate the task but it has to be done and there is no easy way out.... sorry for the huge rant :o

No more neglecting your diary now you have a new challenge :)

Well done for setting some realistic goals, that push you a little but not so much that it's all too depressing!

I like your new signature x

  • Hey woo woo yes definatley need to visit this neck of the wood more often :) you know how it is but i have now suceeded in pishing myself off again and had a text row with oh haha is that possible i just feel so damn stuck i envy people with smaller amounts than me and i feel so ashamed of my amount its such a waste of money that is given to us or earned and i know we should not dwell but its very hard to keep so head straight and positive when you feel plain swear words :@..... this time of year isnt great for me i dont know why i reflect more around this time i look at things and i think another year soon to be over another year to start and yet the same journey continues to run ..... i dont want any inherited money to be sucked up by debt i want money to be for living but alas this does not seem teh case and i feel like having a mini whoa is me
