    Hi Guys

Just inherited a Breville Pie maker -

what size of cutters do I need touse for the tops and bottoms? (didn't come with it)

and how long to cook a basic potato n beef pie please?

I take it you use a shortcrust recipe and not a puff pastry one?

I'm hoping that this is one "freebie" that will earn it's crust in my kitchen converting leftovers to lunches- as DS1 needs packed lunches this next year

ooh only 5- 8 minutes? that's fab would be a real leccy saver then :) I like to put leftover stovies in pasties so they would most likely be good in a pie too :)

Right, that's it! I am going home to make a pie!!!! Well, after work anyway :D I don't have pie-maker :( (don't think I could hide it from hubby) so it will take longer but I think it'll be worth it! I have leftover chicken from our roast the other day, and am going to bung in some mushrooms as well :j Can't wait!!

QVC have Pie Makers back in stock, £16.38 but you have to pay £4.45 p+p.

I think I will have to dig mine out of the cupboard as I haven't used it in ages.

Has anyone tried making cakes/muffins in theirs?

i don't have a toastie maker so i can't try this out myself but... as long as the fillings were cooked already or mostly so, do you think you could use pastry in a toastie maker and make pies that way?

i had a pie maker once but moved overseas and got rid of it due to having to downsize. back now and collecting gadgets again ( i actually use most of mine!). i'd considered the toastie maker anyway because i know from experience how little you have to put in and as long as there is something creamy inside like cheese or yogurt etc they always seem to turn out nicely

i quite like pies too and the idea of quick fruit pies sound nice but i don't know how long it would take in a toastie maker vs a piemaker and/if it would burn etc so if anyone gets brave and tries it please let me know. i don't have a lot of counter space so ONE gadget to do two jobs is better for me
