About to go and check my cupboards..... (bit scared now).

Sorry for being naive but on the raisins account, aren't we overreacting? Yes I'd rather they didn't use transfat at all, but surely, how much can there be in a serving of raisins?
I also thought that they occur naturally as well (hence the high number in kebab), so what is a "reasonable" amount?

Been avoiding trans fat for ages now, but it's so difficult. Shopping takes an eternity, having to look at all the labels, and there are foods that we used to eat that we don't touch now - Heinz sponge puds being one of them. I find pastry is almost impossible to buy without HVO (and yes I know I sould be making my own!) but found some puff pastry recently in Farmfoods that just says pastry margarine on the label, but nothing more in depth about the ingredients. Maybe your grans were blessed after all, no margarine, sweetners or HVO in their day!

PS maybe companies are starting to take note - Jacobs cream crackers used to contain HVO, but now they don't.

I've been trying to find puff pastry made with butter and not HVOs for ages. The only one I've found is from Dorset Foods(not sure of the name, but def dorset something). It's no good for us because it contains eggs.

Hey,think yourself lucky you're just trying to avoid HVOs and other additives,I'm trying to avoid nuts and eggs too!

I sometimes think I should start my own farm in the garden and grow everything Tom and Barbara style, unfortunately gardens on new developments in Worcester are not as big as the ones in Surbiton

Tortilla wraps often have them,Discovery brand are OK but Tesco own brand and value not.

I'm sure organic products don't ever contain HVOs(sorry if someone already mentioned this) - 'course this makes it more expensive
