Trans fat deadly ( known as hydrogenated fats )

Did you all see the Trevor McDonald show ?

Trans fats ( known as Hydrogenated fats )
I was shocked to see this show & to see that Tesco Asda & morrisons are still selling it ......... M&S are the 1st supermarket to stop selling it completely.

I have always thought saturated fats were deadly, but this is taking preserving foods to the extreme.....

Heart disease, sticky blood & so on, if you didn't see the show please I urge you to google it & check it out......

My daughter was such a fussy eater, & when I saw this show our whole diets have changed, Please don't be fooled by the kids that they won't eat healthy food, food can be made fun and very colourful & interesting, ( I have lost 8 lbs in weight from my healthy eating habits & they kids sleep better & infact look soooooo shiney lol *( skins are blooming )*

Please do yourselves a favour & stop eating & buying these trans fats & more important your kids ......... ( kebab meat looks the worst one )

I was in debt & am free of it now thank God, but you can still save money by eating healthily honest, I even grate tomatoes lol :o

If you need recipes I will provide you with lots of exciting stuff or we can all share together !

Keep your health & you will feel better in general "

Good luck Luv Sharon x x

    Hi Shazzie bompa -great name!

I always check for hydrogenated veg oil-evil stuff and don't buy anything with it in.I was shocked to find that something as healthy as raisins were coated in it ,these were Waitrose raisins, not all raisins. But you really need to check everything.

Btw how do you grate a tomato? :D

We try to avoid as many additives as well, we try not to have monosodium gluteamate as well, and another one to watch out for is Aspartame, a sweetner found in lots of fruit squashes and diet products, it is another very scary one!!!!http://www.bryngollie.freeserve.co.uk/E951.htm

My rule of thumb when looking at ingredients lists is - if you can't buy it and use it to make something with in your own kitchen, then you don't want to eat it.That covers hydrogenated veg oil,MSG, and all sweeteners (give me sugar every time!)

I know its a pain but it is definately worth checking every label before putting it in your trolley - you'll be surprised just how much food it is in (I know i was). Now even my children know what to look for!!!!

    Don't forget takeaways!
I used to work in the food industry never felt happy with it - felt hypocritical since I prefer freshly made food too, but got used to the money. Not a good basis for a career so I left but struggled initially with a big drop in salary.

Anyway - back to takeaways. Many Indian and Chinese takeaways use additives (colourings and flavour enhancers) that the food industry (ready meal producers) are not allowed to use.
  • I am with you all no artificial flavourings can be good !
We are what we eat & I feel mountains better for the change in lifestyle......
it is amazing what we have stuffed into our childrens mouths over the past years !
Mam I am starving ..... go to the nearest fast food place & buy, and my oh my .....
Well lol down to grating a tomato cut it in half and place your hand on the rounded part of the tomato ( back ) and grate on the finest part of the grater........ it is amazing no skin at all goes in !
