To avoid constantly having to tell newbies that they have not used the correct format when posting, couldn’t a form be used, as in mail merge? Then it would simply be a case of filling in the fields and when posted it would be in the correct format, ensuring consistency for manipulation of the data etc. Just a thought, although I doubt it's original!
