Don't know if this has been covered already but despite being a big fan of the site for a number of years, I have one criticism - It's terrible to browse on mobile devices. Could you consider some sort of reduced stylesheet (even if just for the forum)?

Would be good to read your content while out and about :)

I have to use the forum on my mobile, and it says I can't post attachments.
Does this include the Avatar? I can't upload pics from my phone to create one anyway, because I can't downsize them. I did try going to one of the sites suggested to get this done but phone browsers being what they are, that didn't work either.

So, as with some other sites, could there be a choice of Avatars on the site so us phone users can click on one? It would be nice to have one.

Also some smilies put at bottom of quick reply?

    Thanks,
    Candy

i dont know if this is the right thread to post in but i wanted to ask or bring it to someones attention that i joined the forum yesterday after being a long time lurker as i wanted to get more involved with the site instead of just following martin on twitter and fb. After a while the site logged me out and i couldn't log back in. I know my username and password was correct but after a few tries, all of which were saying it was my 1 out of 5th attempt i applied to reset my password TWICE. both times the new passwords got the same reaction so i gave up and thought i would try again today and got the same thing. I have now had to re-register under a new user name and email account.

I am worried that once logged out today i will get the very same thing happen to me and if i want to join in on alot of the different subjects and threads on this forum i do not wish to keep going back to square one each day.

Could someone let me know if they are aware of the problem? If not at least i have highlighted it and someone can get this sorted out.

Please move this to the relevant thread if necessary but i would appreciate a pm update from someone later just to let me know or reassure me this wont happen again.

    Thank you :)
  • Hi Hantsgal,

Usernames and password are case sensitive so you must enter all correct upper and lower case letters. For example, username "example" is not the same as "Example".

Perhaps searching your email inbox might help assist you in finding your old username.

Is there any chance yet of having 'smilies' for the Quick Reply?'

I'm on my mobile and phone browsers being what they are - slooow, it's much easier using the Quick Reply.

What's this Default nonsense when no post title is inserted?
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

I think someone is playing with things.

I saw that for an few minutes, but it has gone now.

    Hi,

Firstly can I re-ask if you can put 'smilies' next to the Quick Reply please? It's so much easier to use the quick reply on a mobile with a slow browser.

Secondly, could you put the date and time at the top of the page, rather than the time being right at the bottom?

    Thanks,
    Candy
