    Its the bathroom tonight

oh cool - i'm moving into a new flat soon so trying to get some inspiration for the bathroom - wonder if hers will help? If expensive i will just copy the style but with proper OS methods!

i didnt like the show - partner said all i did was whinge and get in a foul mood - as all of that cost a fortune to do. as if i could do that to my house (well if i actually owned my own that is). even her "bargains" cost a fortune.

I would love to have that amount to spend whilst being "thrifty" and get to have a go at glass blowing and pottery but i actually do not have money hence need to make every penny count. i had been thinking about making cushions prior to the show but im useless at sewing and £100 for a sewing machine as she quoted seems extortiante to me just to be able to make some cushions for my house. anyone suggest a bargain price sewing machine that is reliable and simple to use for a non sewer.

i can paint and draw so trying to think what i can do which will not cost much to make things for our home - any ideas please let me know.

i am currently painting the cloakroom - our house is rented so we arent supposed to do stuff like this but we moved out for 6 months and when we came back that room was a state (since then the "plumbers" literally demolished the en suite when they fitted a new shower base so i will have to do that room next as its a terrible mess). ive had to buy a small tub of bathroom paint (the crap they used would just wipe off when i wiped walls down) and a mini roller and paint brush set. will need small tin of gloss and i have sand paper already.

the walls are looking nice already in yellow and ive got a small black mirror to hang and 3 small african pictures in pine frames (oranges and yellows with elephants - they were cards that i made into pics ages ago) - i already owned all of these things in a box from another house we used to live in and maximum they ever cost me was £15 altogether.

so most this room will cost me what with hooks needed for the decorations will be £20. Its not anything fancy but i think it will look nice and we can just about afford that amount.

btw on the show they showed the things for sticking plates up. i have a beautiful plate my neice made for me - hand painted with a yellow fish - which id love to hang in cloakroom. its a larger size plate so any idea where i can get just one sticky thing or anything else that would work without damaging plate please? thanks a lot

whilst i also remember does anyone know where i can get something (will need to be sticky like the plate things i think) to hang two african sand pictures. they are pieces of thin wood with the pictures on the front in sand so need to be really sturdy as if they fell they would not survive. i currently have them balanced atop my dresser but this is not ideal. any ideas where i wont damage the art can remove from wall easily without ruining landlords walls and wont fall down would be amazing thanks. i will then know what to ask for for my birthday in june :D

I don't know if this will help, but Wilkinsons sell suction hooks. I bought some to put stuff up in my bathroom as I have the DBS plastic tiling, that I didn't want to ruin, on the walls

After the break shes going to spend 55 quid on a door knob! I kinda get the idea of wht to do but theres a lot of people out there and on here who have been doing up there houses for years on a lot smaller budgets and I do feel that she is patronising at times.
I'm still traumatised from seeing last weeks episode where it showed you Cath Kidstons white Moben kitchen. I was expecting old wooden dressers and it was very minimalist.
