DougFlo, Don`t give up that easily.
Get prepared for the next one.
Know when and where you want to go and persevere.
No matter what the pros and cons,£9 a room a night in some great locations is a bargain in anyone`s language.
All the best and give it another go.

with most companies you get an automatic email confirmation issued within seconds of a transaction going through, so its always best to check your emails in conjunction with making a booking. I do this when making any payments online, as there is always the possibility of timeout errors, because unless you know at what point they occured, then it could be your payment went through ok

lol....thanks for your kind suggestion, but companies that treat their customers as badly as this don't deserve their custom, even at £9 a night.

It is called making a stand. I guess part of the reason that they are able to offer rooms at £9 a night is that their backup systems and customer support are so poor.

I would rather pay more and know that I am dealing with a reputable company.

If people's consideration for making a purchase was only price, then we would have to suffer the same poor level of service across the whole market.

I am pleased it has always worked for you so far. I have made my choice and I expect until it goes wrong for you, you will continue to choose TL. Good luck.

This is not what has heppened in these cases. Their system has ring-fenced the money and then not made the booking. So people are left with no confirmation and no booking, but are deprived of the funds from their account.

I just wanted to make a quick post on this. I booked with TL when they had a sale last time and got a room for £19. I booked online and everything went through ok. I stayed in TL Cardiff Atlantic bay with my daughter and was very impressed with it. The only complaint I have is the price of the breakfast although you get a lot for your money.

I am staying at this Travelodge in August for a couple of nights. Could you answer a couple of Q.s ?

Is it a good location and what is parking like (free)?

    Thanks

Fantastic location, just over the road from the red dragon center, where you will find Dr Who exhibition, bowling, cimena and some other food places. Its is withing walking distance of Mermaid Quay and bus route.

I did not go by car I went by train but looking at the car park, it seems good. I think you have to pay, but I think this is the norm.

Breakfast is £7.50 but you can go back for more and kids are free.

I would highly recomend it though, the staff are lovely and the hotel is clean and comfy.

Whatever TL you are thinking of using ALL the info is on their website, directions, location (which you can google map),parking, etc.
They are really doing a great job with their city centre hotels but of course the downside is the parking charges.

But if i didnt get a confirmation email, i wouldnt keep trying to rebook the room, there has to be a point where you think, hang on something isnt right.

To get back into the site, re-add the rooms to your basket and then add card details 10 times, would have rung alarm bells, and i would have stopped and gone back to the site at a quieter time

You CANNOT book a TL room unless you register with them.
When you book a room and no confirmation arrives or you get cut off or whatever the reason, you LOG-IN to your account and go to my bookings or manage my bookings and all your stays are listed there.
