    1. Debit card arrived. :)
    2. Internet banking signed up for online. :)
    3. Just waiting for passcode in the post.

Couldn't be asked with PINSENTRY just yet, but it said I could add it if I wanted to pay anyone not on their "approved" list.

Am going in to try mu luck on Saturday

Hopefully as I'm already bankrupt it should go through ok and not closed / frozen in a few weeks.

Would be happy with co-op if they had a few more branches in better places and not a stupid electron card

No, sniggs, I opened it after bankruptcy about two weeks later, 13 February to be precise:rotfl:I told the chap about bankruptcy etc in the branch and everything went through fine. About 6 weeks later Barclays received notification of my bankruptcy, either from Official Receiver or saw it in the Gazette I don't know. Wallop... everything grinded to a halt except luckily my card!

To give everyone an update on this, I spoke to a guy called Tim in the bankruptcy section of their legal department.

Policy has been changed so that as soon as a bankruptcy marker is put on the account, both online banking and automated telephone banking facilities are withdrawn. This is because - according to Tim - the online banking system allows you to apply for credit facilities. Normally these would be declined but there have been one or two instances where the system has not bothered checking and given an overdraft to a bankrupt - so to prevent this from happening in future, they are now disabling online banking for all bankrupts.

It does get reinstated after discharge, but no chance beforehand. So if you need online banking while undischarged, DO NOT USE BARCLAYS as chances are you won't be able to use it.

    Doh :(

Don't ignore a problem. Unlike a bad smell, it won't eventually go away.

So that is down to their own incompetence, or badly designed systems?

!!!!!!. If co-op can get it right then so can Barclays surely?
