Hi Showergirl I feel so sorry for him and so guilty that I cant fund it for him it is so wrong that he has to pay for it. I have also found out that he cant get help from anywhaere because it is a further education course and not higher, I dont know what the difference is but education is eduaction isnt it? My daughter is going to uni next year so we will have the sam e problem then, she will get a student loan but then they are geting debt before they even graduate. This countries policies are crap. Sorry it annoys the hell out of me when we have paid for everything throughout our lives and my son cannot get funding for his course but if he had commited a crime he'd get it paid.
    I know how you feel.

We bring our kid's up to be honest law abiding adults and yet it seems to get us nowhere. Like you say if he had commited a crime this course would be paid for him. And it is us as parents who feel guilty.

My daughter can only get the minimum loan so we have to help her out which can sometimes be a struggle, on the plus side though when she is finished uni she will only be £7000 in debt which is nothing compared to some of her friends

Di have you done all your claims now? I thought you had more to do? Not heard you put any news on here for a while with them. I have still got to wait another few months so they say at FOS. I rang them yesterday and they said there were complications and that there was a meeting next week. These meetings seem to be every time I ring them. I really need to get some debts paid off and would be glad to send them mine and if we get anything back would be glad for them to sort some for me and to not have a penny myself. I am getting quite fed up TBH as this seems to be going on forever.

Un update on Dad, he had a fall this afternoon, the doctor checked him over and his one leg is swollen, it was before mum arrived there, other than that he has been very tired, we think it must be the change in the meds they are trying him with.

    Still waiting unfortunately Marshallka.....
Twopart with the FSCS, this is with deloittes but not gone into default as yet, although they did confirm last month they were completing their investigations on them.

Endeavour I did not end up going anywhere with that one, this one was with Click.....so an awkard one, was looked at by a solicitor but we decided not to go further with them, after reading loads of stories on here.

I have recently started a reclaim on a lloyds loan, well more or less, just not got round to sending it off yet, I have a few issues with lloyds at the moment, so a bit of sore subject that, put it this way, we are no longer banking with them......:o, this is a long story, and will eventually let you know more, but there is also a general complaint with the FOS about them now as well, this have been with them for the last 2 months or so.

Hubby just waiting for that decision from the ombudsman on his, but it came to me on this one, as his is Lloyds, remember that email he received about wider issues?
I think they may have put this together, he is going to ring them tomorrow on it to find out a little more.;)

I hope they move on for you soon though Marshallka, I bet it feels like its not getting anywhere at this rate, so frustrating!
I still think though, even though I know you will be happy that they just sort it, but still think that extra compo is deserved, I think they will award this, I have that feeling and hope they do.
Now that would help you I know X

Hi Di sorry your dad had a fall, hope the swelling goes down soon. He will probably be quite up and down at the moment it is always the same when they mess about with meds.

So you still have a few to do then DI. This is my last one now that is with FOS and then I am done and dusted. You need to get on with your others then Di. I am sure they would ease everything for you like lots on here. I know we are slowly creeping up the debts again but I just want this small win and then back on track. Like I say, they can use the money to repay my debts and then we can afford the mortgage. I just wish we had not consolidated everything into the mortgage now as you don't lose you house with unsecured debts. I know the FP loan was then remortgaged onto the now HUGE mortgage but it was because of consolidating that we are actually in this mess now. I think we would have been better off by just repaying them slowly what we could afford. Still its done now and there is nothing we can do. If we lose the house or have to sell it then we have to. Its just so maddening though.:confused::confused:

Glad your dad is being sorted now (meeting monday!!). It must be a huge relief. This is where having a big family comes in isn't it. You can each share the load and have time out too.

Marshallka, how much do you save per month from having interest only mortgage?

We don't save anything cause we have to pay interest cause we cannot afford the repayments and the credit cards etc. We have started to pay some of the capital off since the interest drop but our Mortgage provider Intelligent Finance have closed the doors to new business and also they have stopped doing mortgages etc so we are now stuck. They were the only lenders that allowed such a large wage ratio and it was classed on affordability. We will sell maxdp if we have to. Its just a complete night mare at the moment. If we sell we will have to completely move area etc cause of the property prices here and so much needs doing to this one. We have to accept we made a huge mistake.:o

Our problem is when our deal with IF ends with still owing all the capital again we are going to have trouble finding another lender. Vicious circle. I refuse to go through repossession again. I would rather sell and cut my losses.

It just maddens me (we tried to help ourselves) in that CAB say that we would have had a better chance if we had not put the debts on the mortgage. At least we would have afforded the house repayments and kept our roof and they cannot take your house for unsecured debts.

If we could reduce the capital to what would be a "normal" mortgage then we would at least have a chance. At the moment we are spirralling again. I would not worry so much if it was "unsecured".

Secured 125% loan providers have a lot to answer for. They should never have been allowed.

Still lots worse off than us though.
