Hi Di.
Glad things getting sorted for you with mum and dad. Would be best for mum and all really if he was somewhere that can keep him safe. My gran was in a home for Alzheimers/Senile Dementia and we used to have to make sure that she had her own teeth in cause sometimes they ended up in somebody elses mouth. Gran did not know and nobody else did. One day she got out, climbed over a five bar gate (she was 78 at time) they found her about a mile down the road she had got into this house and was making herself a cup of tea. I really hope things get sorted Di especially with the other stuff
Hi all hope you are ok . Have not had time to post. Have got a chocolate labrador on second day we had him cat stalked and badly attacked him. Got his claw in his eye and pulled the iris nearly out of his eye. It made me feel sick. I have been so upset about him. All ok now had to take him to a specialist vet £1100. bill. OMG Anyway his sight has been saved and he is fine now. Have had to travel 2 hours each way to the vet. He is so adorable and will post a picture of him up here soon. I have fallen totally in love with him. Have to protect him from Catzilla. Also daughter has fallen out with her dad and have had her here. Have been exhausted with all trying to look after pup, keep cat away from pup and sorting out daughter. She off to Reading Festival this weekend. Peace and Quiet. LOL.
Anyway take care all. x:mad:0 -

Hope your well. X
Awe your poor gran, I know my dad the one day had piles of other patients slippers by the side of his bed the one morning, and also glasses.....:o, he said they were all his, and coming back from one of his wanders, he led down in another patients bed, the other patient was apparently in a bath, he came back looking all confused himself bless him lol.
My dad is actually the youngest at 68 to have advanced stages of dementia, there are another 4 on the next bay with it but in their late 70's to 80's.
So sorry to hear that news of your lovely dog Max......., how frightening that was, glad they sorted him out now though, thankfully, blimey that is a lot of money Max......
Hope things work out for your daughter and that she had a great time at the festival.;)
Take care Max, I did wonder if everything was all okay, wasn't sure if you went away for a few days. XXXXThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Thanks Di.
It has been bad at moment but I know it is not only me having probs here.
I will look forward to peace and quiet. Wish I was going away. I feel so numb at the moment with all going on. Have had words with her dad cause I think he being a selfish banker. Needs to think about her rather than himself.
Am sure things will smooth out Di when your dad gets into appropriate care. Will take a lot off your shoulders as well as your mum and familyxxxx:mad:0 -
marshallka wrote: »Sorry about your puppy maxdp. I know what eyes and dogs are like. Our dogs just been on his first proper walk today since doing the second eye. He is all healed this time but its cost us about £750. We have got insurance now but only basic and we were told an eye specialist would have been our next trip. Have you got him/her in an Elizabethan collar. They hate them don't they. We bought 3 different ones and the ones we found best was from pets at home. Its the most comfortable as the backs of our legs were cut to bits and the paintwork was off all the door frames. There is a good vet on the pets forum who knows about eyes and helped us with suggestions which I then said to our vet. In fact we were considering using him if ours did not get better. He does a specialist op but was so far away. I have to now keep my dog away from any hedges, long grasses and thistles etc. Easier said than done though. He is a horror when he is out.
Will look out for your piccies.
Thank you Marshallka. Did not have to have an Elizabethan collar just three different drops four times a day plus antibiotic tablets and pain killers. Picked him up on Friday then would have been 8 weeks on Monday which was when we booked him in for injections. We would have had a months free insurance then with the vet. So close yet so far.
He been really good so far. He sits and lies down and stays (for a while:o). Last injection on Friday so will be able to do road work. He is very handsome and his name is Satchmo. I wonder how many people can tell me where the name come from.:rotfl:Without looking it up. Tee Hee:mad:0 -

Anyway tomorrow is another day so can change quickly.:o
Hope you OK lots of love.x:mad:0 -
Hi Max hope you are coping with all the stress you have been through. Hope puppy is ok he sounds so cute. Love his name. My little man is called Dandalabra Frazzle Zap, Zap for short a bit of a mouthful to shout across the beach. we decided to keep his kennel name as between the four of us the family we couldnt decide what to call him. We have him insured but you can guarentee that when you take him to the vets it stays below the excess mark. he had a bad bout of gastro trouble at 10 weeks the vet said it was probably nothing but he gave him injections just in case, £60.00 job. Any way hope he is ok and the rest of your family love and hugs Di xxxx0

Thank you Di.
I know what you mean about the cost it never used to cost this much:eek:. You never felt guilty about not having dogs injeccted and tagged and wormed and fleaed etc. Used to just get Dc Martin tablets and that was acceptab:rotfl:le. He is fine now but the cat actually stalked him and viciously attacked him. It was quite traumatic to see. Pup had not even been chasing him or anything. Am so terrified of Catzilla getting anywhere near him again. Pup is not concerned so is not a prob but OMG I am.
Anyway lots of love Di and glad you getting settled in and you have joy with your pup. Glad you back on here. Lots of love
