My dad was one of 6 and he also worked from age 14 down the mine for the same reasons, to provide for the family but he knew nothing else and it was what they did. He was in a pit fall very early age. He was always greatful though for the simple things in life and it seems so unfair that he had his life taken away at such a young age. Life is a !!!!! sometimes Di. Thoughts.

You have been there as well Marshallka haven't you?
That is right what you said though, you do appreciate simple things in life, and your dad was very young as well, that is very sad.
I think years ago it was the fact that they worked so young to help the families.
It was that in my dad's case while the other brothers lapped it all up.

However, as I am one of 8 children there are enough of us to help out, you find this in larger families don't you?
Yet my other nan had I think 16 children........., imagine that, I would have no hair left on my head .....:o

Oh Di you poor thing, please dont work yourself up over this and definitely dont make yourself ill over it. This is probably just your mums way of trying to cope and go through her emotions and she probably thinks she should be able to do it alone and cant. At stressful times things are said and shouldnt be taken to heart though thats easier said than done. Once things settle down I am sure all will be ok.

Hope I havent added to your upset posting this, I just want you to be alright and to know we are all here to listen to you and support where we can.

    Love you loads Di,xxxx

Thank you as well Pinknico and your right as well.;)
It's just coming to terms with the changes I suppose, and yes with mum I agree, she is bound to miss him as well, as she is so used to having dad there, and it must feel so strange too.
She said she woken up one morning early hours hearing dad calling her, of course she must have been hearing things, but it goes to show doesn't it, that its on her mind all the time as well.

That is fine Pinknico, you are all great and would not know what to do without you all, thank you.:AXXXX

They are mingling in when they can, the one lives quite away, although I think she may be coming down soon, however she has COPD and back and forth hospital herself, and with this chest disease she has, she has never smoked or drank alcohol in her life.......
Obviously my one brother with autism can't do a lot, the others are trying to help between working.;)XXX
