, My sis had one in her apartment in Cyprus and she ran down to the pub (her apartment was over) and a man had to whack it about 10 times with a shoe and it would not die (poor thing:o). I would have pooped myself. I do now at the ones here in this country. I have to hoover them and then empty the hoover real quick in the hope they have survived.

OMG.......:eek::eek:, I'm all itchy and scratchy now......:o:D, me too Marshallka.
I was brave years back when a friend of the family had actually brought one to our house, (this was when I was living at home), he placed the triancular on my arm, I was okay when he kept still, then he started crawling........, never again, he also brought a snake to the house, it was huge, mind you I did not mind that so much, although I would not hold him for too long, in case he fancied my neck.... lol.

I used to work with a girl who lived there and she said the house spiders, I think they are called huntsman spiders, were the size of side plates yuck and you got them in the house all the time_pale_

    Scary......:eek:_pale_, I would be gone......:o lol.
I always remember when we were very small, my dad made a clay spider that was huge, he clung it on the bedroom wall when we were not looking, had the dimmer light on and with a shadow coming off that it was bigger again, OMG I didn't half scream the house down lol :o

The night before we went away we had a beetle called a sexton beetle in our kitchen. It was a large orange/black coloured one and made a LOUD noise. My hubby shouted me and we had to get it in a jar (it protested loads) and then look it up on google. Apparently they can smell a dead body for up to two miles away:eek:. They carry the carcus then and bury them. (hence name burying beetle also). Piccie here

It had just flown in when the door was open. I have never heard such a noise from an insect before. It was massive.

Also my rented house before this one had an orchard behind and one night I was sitting in my kitchen talking to my friend and I thought I saw something go along the hallway. Anway next morning I was just about to take my shower and walked into the cubical and my son used to play his "turtles" in there and when i looked down there was something dark. I thought nothing of it and turned on the water and then these wings spread out and this mouth hissed at me. A bat was staring me in the face.... needless to say I passed on the shower. I had to ring a friend to come with a large nescafe jar and rescue it. I can laugh about it now but that was one hell of a shock.
